The University of Charleston was called Morris Harvey College when it first came about. The school was founded in 1888 as Barboursville Seminary. In 1935 the school was moved to Charleston, in 1947 the Mason College of Fine Arts was around. The current name came about in 1978. They now have four more residence halls- a parking garage- and- a fitness center. They also have a new school of pharmacy. They have a new library as well. Urbana College was founded in 1850. It was just the second institution that had woman. Oberlin College was the first. It has 28 undergraduate programs. In 1985 it was changed from Urbana College to Urbana University. The teams are nicknamed the Blue Knights. They have 21 sports teams total.

West Virginia State is a historically black public university that was founded in 1891. WVSU was established as a West Virginia colored institute in 1891. The school opened in May 1892. Concord University is a public university in Athens, West Va. It was founded on 2/28 in 1872. It is known as the campus beautiful. They have a College of Professional Studies- College of Natural Sciences (Mathematics and Health.) The College of Fine Arts- Humanities- and- Social Sciences. They have 200 on campus organizations and five residence halls. The athletic teams are known as the Mountain Lions.
