Ants Marching...Again! Vorhees Returns For Second Year With Mad Ants.

When the G-league season ended last April, former Notre Dame College star Will Vorhees was not sure if he was going to be back for year two with the Fort Wayne Mad Ants as he was guaranteed a spot on the teams training camp roster but not on the roster itself. "Camp was stacked with talent just like last year, "Vorhees explained. "The difference is I was more familiar with the system and better prepared mentally and physically for this year's training camp."

Vorhees learned on Friday that he would be a member of the Mad Ants again. Former Vorhees teammate at NDC and current Fairmont State graduate assistant Jack Kelsheimer talked about what makes Vorhees different from so many other players:

"When you pair his skills with his size and strength he creates easy mismatches and is tough for anyone to guard unless they are a big or play the 4 or 5 spot, "Kelsheimer mentioned. He has a nice shot and his size allows him to get it off over almost anyone. He also does the little things like rebounds and brings toughness and physicality. He plays with no fear and has great confidence and brings it every night."

Former NDC teammate and current Fairmont State Guard Isaiah Sanders talked about Vorhees game:

"Will has always been a big that can make the right reads and the right plays." Sanders said." His physical ability also gives a lot of people trouble and his shot making ability at his size separates him from a lot of the other guys that are his height and size."

I played with him a few times this summer and he is just different, "Bruce Hodges stated. "Can shoot from wherever, can handle it like a guard, and is still a rebounding machine."

Dan Lott talked about going to see him play last season and what stuck out:

"I went to a game last year versus the Charge and watched Will play, "Lott mentioned. He's very versatile and always finds a way to impact the game whether it's scoring, rebounding, or simply making the right play."

Vorhees talked coming to Cleveland in about a month (The Mad Ants play the Charge December 7th at Wolstein Center:)

"I'm always pumped to play in Cleveland and see some old faces that helped support me and get me to where I'm at in this point of my professional career."

Vorhees and the Fort Wayne Mad Ants will open the 2022-23 season when they take on the Grand Rapids Gold tomorrow night (Saturday.) Here is the 2022-23 Fort Wayne Mad Ants roster:

Justin Anderson Virginia

Bennie Boatwright USC

Pedro Bradshaw Bellarmine

Eli Brooks Michigan

Kendall Brown Baylor

Tevin Brown. Murray State

Norvelle Pelle Lebanon

Trevelinn Quinn New Mexico State

Jermaine Samuels Villanova

Deividas Sirrvidas Lithuania

David Stockton. Gonzaga

Will Vorhees NDC

Gabe York Arizona

As Vorhees has said several times before if his goal was not to make it to the NBA one day he would be selling himself short.
