Back On The Hardwood, Falcons Battle Wesleyan Monday.

The Notre Dame College Falcons will be back on the hardwood Monday when they face the West Virginia Wesleyan Bobcats inside of Murphy Gym. The game that was originally scheduled for Wednesday will take place at 7:30 PM tonight. You can catch all the action on the MECTV portal and on the Live Stats link at NotreDameFalcons.com

Coach Mark Richmond talked about the opportunity:

"We are excited to be back at it tonight. We have had solid practices of late, and look forward to the opportunity of playing Wesleyan tonight, Richmond stated.

NDC (1-4 1-4 MEC) has not played since a 71-70 loss at Frostburg State last Saturday. Jevontae Jones led NDC with 15 points in that game- while Mike Sampson recorded a double-double (14 points- and- 13 rebounds.) NDC shot 45 percent from the field- and- 29 percent (6-21) from the 3-point line in the loss. They also shot at a 61 percent clip (14-23) from the free throw line in the contest. NDC comes into Monday's contest scoring 73.4 points per game, while they allow 82.8 per contest. One of the strengths of the team has been on the glass, where they are +3.6 (37.6-34 rebounds per game) which is good for fourth in rebounding margin. The Falcons are second in the conference in defensive rebounds.

Jordan Roland paces the season box score putting up 15.8 points per game, to go along with 3.6 rebounds, and three assists per night. Jordan Burton is posting 14.2 points per contest, while Tyland Crawford is contributing 12.8 points a game. Sampson leads the team grabbing 6.8 rebounds per contest.

Wesleyan (0-7 0-7 MEC) is coming off a 84-76 loss to Alderson Broaddus lasit time out. Jaylin Reed scored 24 points, and Daylin Lee added 17 in the loss on Saturday. Ross Young posted a double-double with 14 points, and 11 rebounds.

Richmond talked about the Bobcats:

"They have a solid group led by Reed, Lee, and Young. We need to execute our game plan, and follow the scouting report. We are excited to be back home."

In the loss to AB on Saturday the Bobcats shot 43 percent from the field- 32 percent (8-25) from the 3-point line- and- 75 percent (6-8) from the free throw line.

Reed leads the season box score at 20.7 points per contest, while Lee (13.7- and-Young 11.6) also average double figures. Lee leads the team on the glass grabbing 9.1 rebounds per night.

The two teams met twice a season ago with Wesleyan sweeping the season series. The Bobcats ralliedo9 from a 19 point halftime deficit to win in overtime 101-95 in South Euclid on 12/14. In the second meeting Wesleyan rolled to a 90-63 victory on 2/5.
