Battlers Come To South Euclid For MEC Clash.

The Notre Dame College Falcons (9-7 6-5 MEC) welcome the Alderson Broaddus University Battlers (4-11 3-8 MEC) to South Euclid for an MEC clash tomorrow afternoon. Tip time is scheduled for 4 PM and you can catch all the action on the Mountain East Digital Network at MountainEast.TV

"Another important game against a solid conference opponent. We look forward to the opportunity on Saturday, "NDC head coach Mark Richmond said.

"Another chance to keep the train rolling and get a win at home which we haven't done our last two times, "NDC Guard Jaedon Willis explained.

NDC is coming off a hard fought 85-81 road win at Wheeling on Wednesday night. Jaedon Willis knocked down seven 3-pointer's and tied his season high with 33 points in the victory along with going 8-10 at the free throw line. DeAirius Barker added a career high 23 points as he was a perfect 10 of 10 at the foul line. Obinna Ugwuakazi had a career high 12 rebounds as the Falcons completed the season sweep of the Cardinals. NDC shot 33.8 percent from the field, 39.4 percent (13-33) from the 3-point line and 90.3 percent (28-31) from the free throw line.

As a team the Falcons score a Mountain East fifth best 82.3 points per game while they allow an MEC second best 76.8 points per contest (only trailing Charleston.) NDC shoots 43.4 percent from the field which is 11th in the conference while they hold the opposition to 41.8 percent shooting which is tops in the MEC. The Falcons shoot 37 percent from the 3-point line which is third in the MEC and lead the MEC as the opposition only shoots 28.9 percent from the 3-point line. They are also second in the MEC shooting at a 75 percent clip from the free throw line.

Willis continues to be the catalyst for the NDC offense as he is second in the conference in points per game (21.7,) second in 3-point percentage (43.9,) third in made 3's per game (2.9,) second in free throw percentage (87.1 percent) and ninth in minutes played (31.8.) Barker puts up 11.1 points per contest and leads the team in assists (three per night.)


The Battlers were a 86-72 loser to West Liberty last time out. Jalen Knott led the way with 29 points while Jaelyn Etheridge added 11. AB shot 41.3 percent from the field, 42.9 percent from the 3-point line (9-21) and 57.9 percent (11-19) from the free throw line.

AB scores 73.1 points per game which is 11th in the MEC and allows 82.8 points per contest which is 10th in the conference. They shoot an MEC seventh best 44.8 percent from the field, the opposition shoots 50.4 percent (11th in the MEC.) They shoot 36.6 percent from the 3-point line allow the opposition to shoot 37.2 percent which are both fifth in the conference. They are 11th in the conference shooting 68.1 percent from the free throw line and also 11th on the glass where they are out rebounded by 4.1 (32.4-36.5) rebounds per night.

Knott leads the team in scoring at 20.2 points per game, as the Lutheran East product will be playing just his sixth game of the year tomorrow. He shoots at a 47.7 percent clip from the 3-point line. Zach Simpkins scores 13.4 points per night, Jon King tallies 11.2 points per contest and leads the team hauling in 4.9 rebounds per game. Kobe Tigney and Siri Hughes average 10.4 and 10.3 points per game respectively to round out the season box score. Coryon Rice leads the team in assists at 2.9 per contest.
