Building Momentum Towards March.

The Notre Dame College Falcons coming off one of the biggest regular season wins in school history on Saturday look to carry that momentum on the road where they will face Glenville State on Thursday night. Tip time is set for 7:30 PM and you can catch all the action on NotreDameFalcons.com

NDC (16-6 12-4 MEC) was a 90-84 winner over Fairmont State last time out. Will Vorhees who was both the MEC Player Of The Week and the US Basketball Writers Association Division 2 Player Of The Week scored 34 points and grabbed nine rebounds in the win over Fairmont State. Larenz Thurman scored 18 points- dished out eight assists- and- grabbed seven rebounds in the contest. Bruce Hodges scored 13 points and grabbed eight rebounds- while both Hamish Warden and Isaiah Sanders tallied 10 points. The Falcons shot 48 percent from the field- but struggled from the 3-point line where they shot 17 percent (4-23.) They also shot at a 84 percent clip (16-19) from the free throw line.

In the first meeting in South Euclid in January the Falcons were a 109-81 winner over Glenville. Vorhees paced the Falcons with 23 points and 13 rebounds- while Drew Scarberry knocked down seven 3-pointer's on his way to 23 of his own. Halil Parks scored 12- while both Hodges and Sanders netted 10 points each. They shot 56 percent as a team in the win- while shooting 36 percent (12-33) from the 3-point line. They shot at a 78 percent clip (7-9) at the free throw line.

Koenig talked about the matchup:

" We will be looking to build off of last week for sure. This is a big game- especially being a conference game at this time of year. They can score with anybody and are tough at home." Koenig said.

Vorhees leads the Falcons box score pouring in 26.5 points per game- while he hauls in 11.3 rebounds per contest. Larenz Thurman puts up 18.6 per night- and- dishes out a team leading 4.7 assists per contest. Sanders scores 11.4 per night- and- Parks chips in 10.2 per game. NDC is in the middle of the pack offensively- as they average 86 points per game. On the defensive end they are third in the MEC giving up 78 points per night. The Falcons are 5-4 in true road games on the campaign. They are +3.9 rebounds a game on the glass (39.6-35.7.) They also average 3.5 blocks per contest as a team.

Bruce Hodges talked about this one:

" Glenville is a really good offensive team. For me every game it starts on the defensive end and this game is no different. The goal is always to go 1-0 on the day." Hodges stated.

The Pioneers (9-13 4-12 MEC) are coming off a 102-73 loss to Charleston last time out. Davion Johnson led the way with 11 points- while Jamal Pollydore- and- Howard Smith each recorded 10. They shot 40 percent from the field- 33 percent (8-24) from the 3-point line- and- 72 percent (13-18) from the free throw line.

In the first meeting GSC was a 109-81 loser to NDC as Phil Bledsoe and Pollydore scored 25 points each- while Johnson also scored in double figures with 10. The Pioneers shot 40 percent from the field in that one- while shooting at a 28 percent clip (13-46) from the 3-point line. They also shot 73 percent (8-11) at the free throw line. The Pioneers are 6-3 at home on the season.

Koenig talked about the task at hand:

" It is going to be a tough game. Glenville is a good team. We look forward to the opportunity- and- I do not expect a let down after the last game."
