Falcons Clash With Cardinals In Monday Matinee.

The Notre Dame College Falcons will clash with the Wheeling Cardinals in a Monday Matinee, scheduled for a 4 PM tip at Murphy Gym. The game was originally postponed last Sunday. You can catch all of the action on NotreDameFalcons.com and the MECTV portal.

Coach Mark Richmond set up the matchup:

"We are very similar teams. They have a new coach, and us having new players is the biggest difference, "Richmond explained.

NDC (0-3) is coming off a 83-60 loss to Charleston in the home opener on Saturday afternoon. The game Monday, will be the second of a three-game home stand for the Falcons. Jordan Roland led the way for the Falcons with 21 points in the defeat, while Tyland Crawford added 12. NDC shot a frigid 33 percent from the floor- and- 24 percent (6-25) from the 3-point line- they also shot at a 70 percent clip from the free throw line.

Individually, Roland leads the team in scoring at 18.3 points per contest- while Jordan Burton (14.7 points per night-) and- Crawford is also averaging double figures putting up 13 points per game. Michael Sampson leads the team in rebounding at six per night. NDC is averaging 74.0 points per night as a team, and giving up 91.3 per contest. They are averaging 34.3 rebounds per night.

Wheeling (0-2) is coming off a 95-60 loss to Fairmont State at home Saturday. Jordan Reid had 21 points- and- 11 rebounds in the loss to Fairmont. Jay Gentry had 15- and- Jarrett Haines scored 14 on Saturday.

Richmond talked about the press bothering Wheeling, and keeping Reid out of the paint:

" The press really bothered them against Fairmont, they could not break it. As for Reid he is one of the more talented players in our league. You need to force him to shoot contested two's and keep him out of the paint, Richmond mentioned.

Wheeling is scoring 69.5 points per game as a team, while they give up 90 points per contest. They are averaging 38 rebounds as a team.

Reid is averaging 21.0 points per game, Gentry, and Haines each are netting 14 per night. John Korte, and Reid average a team leading eight rebounds a game.
