Falcons Host Senior Day.

The Notre Dame Falcons return home Saturday as they host Senior Day. Prior to the 4 PM contest inside Murphy Gym senior's Bruce Hodges-Larenz Thurman- Marek Hulva-DeAnthony Owens- Drew Scarberry- and- Dan Lott will be honored. NDC comes in with a record of 8-15 and 6-11 in the MEC- but has won four straight at home. On the other side Frostburg State comes into the game 10-13 and 7-10 in the MEC.

Coach Mark Richmond talked about his first senior night as a head coach:

" Senior night is very special especially when you have six of them. These guys have meant a lot to this school and this program. We just need to play within ourselves. The fact that it is senior day should not change a ton. Obviously with Larenz being out that opens up a spot. It will be a game time decision as far as who plays when. Hopefully we can get them all in- and- they can play well- and-we will come out on top. Once the game starts it is just another game." Richmond explained.

Scarberry led the way with a career high tying 31 points- and- 11 rebounds in a 81-76 loss at Fairmont State on Wednesday. Owens (18-) and- Levi Frankland (12) also scored in double figures. The Falcons shot 48 percent from the field- 37 percent (7-19) from the 3-point line- and- 81 percent (17-21)from the free throw line in the defeat. The Falcons come into the game scoring 77.9 points per game which is sixth in the MEC- while they allow a MEC fifth best 79.7 points per night. On the glass the Falcons are sixth in the MEC with a -0.3 margin (34.3-34.6.)

Individually Frankland leads the team and is eighth in the conference scoring 17.9 points per night. The redshirt sophomore is shooting 56 percent from the field- and- 44 percent from the 3-point line on the season. Scarberry is scoring 15.9 points per game- and- is shooting 36 percent from the 3-point line. Owens averages 15.8 per game- and- a team leading 6.4 rebounds per night. Jordan Burton leads the team in assists at 3.4 per contest which is seventh in the MEC.

In the first meeting with Frostburg on the road Owens scored 22 points- while Scarberry had 12. They shot 41 percent from the field- 20 percent (6-27) from the 3-point line- and- 71 percent (15-21) from the free throw line.

Richmond talked about how his team still has to be team oriented to get back to their winning ways:

" We are happy to be back at home. We need to stay within ourselves and execute on offense. All year when we have been good we have been team oriented. We got away from that a little bit at the end of the game the other night. We need to share the ball- and- make the smart pass. Obviously that is harder to do on the road. We had to win rebounding by more to win that last game. As I have been saying all year when we have talked about rebounding we need continued effort and we just need to continue to harp on that."

The Bobcats (10-13 7-10 MEC) come into Saturday on a three game win streak. The last time out they were a 63-62 winner at Urbana on Wednesday night. Reigning MEC Player of The Week Daniel Alexander had 34 points including the game winner- while Renee Desmond added seven. They shot 36 percent in the contest- 19 percent (3-16) from the 3-point line- and- 89 percent (16-18) from the free throw line. The Bobcats are 10th in the MEC scoring 75.1 points per game on the offensive end- while they are also 10th in the MEC allowing 82.3 points per contest. The Bobcats have struggled on the glass being out rebounded by 5.1 rebounds (40.2-45.3.)

Alexander leads the season box score and the conference putting up 21.6 points per game. He is also seventh in the MEC in rebounding at 7.3 per game- while he is eighth in the MEC in assists per game at 3.4 Joe Adedayo (10.9 points per game-) and- Lawrence Pettis Jr. (10 points per game) are also averaging double figures.

In the first meeting at home against the Falcons Adeadayo led the way with 29 points- while Alexander netted 17. They shot 41 percent as a team- 27 percent (6-22) from the 3-point line- and- 70 percent (16-23) from the free throw line.

Richmond talked about the defensive challenges against the Bobcats:

" We have to be on top of our game defensively. Obviously Alexander is the focal point of the offense and the go to guy on this team. He has taken more than 400 shoots- and- more than 300 in league play on the season. They have some other guys that are dangerous as well."

Richmond continued about how it was hard to scout this game:

"This is a hard team to scout against. They have used so many different lineups you don't really know what they will do tomorrow."
