Falcons Look To Stay Hot As They Travel To Frostburg.

The Notre Dame College Falcons will look to stay hot as they carry a four game win streak into Saturday's contest at Bobcat Arena in Frostburg, MD. The two teams met earlier in the season (1/5) with NDC coming out on top 94-86 on their home floor. The game will tip at 4 PM and you can catch all the action on the Mountain East Digital network at MountainEast.TV

NDC head coach Mark Richmond talked about the Frostburg Matchup:

"Going to need another 40 minute effort on the road Saturday at Frostburg State, "Richmond mentioned.We will have to play really well defensively because Frostburg really scores the ball well at home."

NDC (14-9 11-6 MEC) is riding high after they picked up a 78-73 win over #10 Fairmont State on Wednesday. The win for the Falcons was the second such win against a top ten team (#7 West Liberty in the home opener.) Additionally the win was the third straight for NDC against Fairmont inside Murphy Gym. Jaedon Willis led the Falcons in the game with 19 points, Daylin Lee provided a spark off the bench with 18, DeAirius Barker scored all 14 of his points in the second half as he went six of six from the field and dished out a game high five assists. Mike Sampson also tallied a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds. NDC shot 45 percent from the field, 26 percent (5-19) from the 3-point line, and 65 percent (11-17) at the free throw line in the contest. In the first meeting with Frostburg back on 1/5 (a 94-86 NDC win) Willis led the way with 21, Sampson had 18 and nine rebounds, Lee netted 12, while Barker contributed 10 to go along with a game high six assists. NDC shot 52 percent from the field, 50 percent from the 3-point line (8-16) and 67 percent (18-27) from the free throw line in the victory. As a team NDC puts up 80.0 points per game which is good for sixth in the MEC while defensively they give up an MEC fifth best 78.1 points per night. The Falcons shoot 47 percent from the field which is fifth in the conference, while they are shooting an MEC second best 38 percent from the 3-point line. On the glass NDC is seventh in the conference being out-rebounded by 1.4 (34.8-36.2) boards per contest. They are fourth in the conference dishing out 15.5 assists per night as well. Willis continues to lead the team as he has all season long and is fourth in the scoring 20.6 points per game while also dishing out a team leading three assists per night. The junior from Baltimore is leading the MEC in 3-point makes per game (3.2) and is third in the conference shooting at a 39 percent clip from the 3-point line. Tyland Crawford is putting up 12.4 points per game to go along with 5.9 rebounds per night. Sampson is scoring 10.5 per contest and is fifth in the MEC grabbing 8.3 rebounds per game. The junior from Houston is also fifth in the MEC getting two steals per contest.

Richmond talked about what he wanted to see from his team on offense:

"We just need to continue to share the ball and take the right shots at the right time."

The Bobcats (6-17 4-13 MEC) are coming off a 74-72 loss to Alderson Broaddus on Wednesday. Bo Schene paced Frostburg with 21 points, Canaan Bartley netted 15, Agiye Edwards had 14, and Jihar Williams scored 13. The Bobcats shot 44 percent from the field, 50 percent (8-16) from the 3-point line and 75 percent (6-8) from the free throw line in the contest. The Bobcats score 79.3 points per game which is seventh in the MEC while defensively they are 11th in the conference giving up 87.6 per night. They are ninth in the conference shooting 45 percent from the field and shoot an MEC sixth best 36 percent from the 3-point line. On the glass the Bobcats are 11th in the conference getting to-rebounded by 5.7 (32.3-38.0) boards per night. They are also 11th in the conference in assists at 11.3 per game. Edwards leads the team in scoring at 15.7 points per game and dishes out a team leading 2.4 assists per contest. Bartley is not far behind netting 15.4 per contest and leads the team grabbing 5.4 rebounds per night. Mike Tate Jr. also averages in double figures at 11.2 per game. In the first meeting versus NDC Edwards had 23, Bartley contributed 15, Williams scored 12, and Schene contributed 11. As a team they shot 45 percent from the field, 40 percent from the 3-point line (10-25) and 67 percent (8-12) from the free throw line.

Richmond talked defense:

"We will need to change our defenses and mix some things up to keep them out of rhythm."
