Falcons Travel To #17 Glenville State For Mid Week MEC Clash.

Coach Mark Richmond talked about the upcoming matchup:

" We're grateful for another opportunity to play,"Richmond mentioned.

NDC (2-4 2-4 MEC) is coming off a 88-70 win over West Virginia Wesleyan on Monday night. Jordan Roland paced the Falcons with 22 points- John Godinez added 18- and- Jordan Burton knocked down five 3-pointer's on his way to 15 points. NDC shot 52 percent from the field- and- 52 percent (12-23) from the 3-point line in the victory. They also shot at a 71 percent clip (12-17) at the free throw line.

The Falcons are averaging 79.8 points per game, after a season high 88 on Monday. Defensively they are fourth in the MEC, giving up 80.7 points per contest. Another area of strength for the Falcons this season has been on the glass, where they are +4.7 (37.3-33 rebounds per night,) which is good for fourth in the MEC in rebounding margin. They are second in the MEC in defensive rebounds as well.

Roland paces the season box score putting up 16.8 points per game, while also leading the team in assists. Burton is netting 14.3 points per night, and leads the MEC shooting at a 48 percent clip from the 3-point line. Tyland Crawford rounds out the double figure scorers contributing 12.8 points per contest. Michael Sampson leads the Falcons in rebounding grabbing 6.8 rebounds per game.

Richmond talked about carrying the momentum wathe team built on Monday on the road:

" Winning on the road is difficult in the MEC. We need the same energy, and enthusiasm we had on Monday."

Glenville State (5-1 5-1 MEC) is coming off a 117-85 loss to West Liberty on Monday. John Williams led five Pioneers in double figures with 21 points, he was joined by Nick Edwards (16-) Adrian Scarborough (14-) Tommy Williams (12-) and- Hagel Augustin (10.) GSC shot 37 percent from the field, 22 percent (5-22) from the 3-point line, and 67 percent (22-33) from the free throw line. As a team they average 93.7 points per game, while they allow 91.5 per contest. They are third in the MEC in rebounding margin (+2.3.)

Augustin leads the Pioneers in scoring at a league fourth best 21.3 points per game, while he grabs 9.8 rebounds per contest which is good for third in the conference. Williams is seventh in the MEC putting up 20.8 points per night, while Edwards powered by his 35 percent shooting clip from the 3-point line is contributing 17.3 points per contest. Scarborough rounds out the double digit scorers at 10.2 points per game.

Richmond gave his final thought about facing Glenville:

"Turnovers, and rebounding will be a major key against a very talented Glenville team."
