Gordon Named WBCA 30 Under 30!

For the second straight year a Notre Dame College Women's basketball coach was named to the Women's Basketball Coaches of America (WBCA) 30 under 30 list. After Head Coach Lauren Macer was named to the list a season ago, she was joined by Assistant Coach Imani Gordon this season.

" Congrats to Coach Gee on earning WBCA 30 under 30. Your hard work and dedication to the ladies and this program don't go unnoticed.Thank you for the countless hours you have given,"Macer stated.

Gordon joined the NDC Coaching staff in the 2017-18 season, and specializes in coaching the forwards. Gordon made an immediate impact in her first season as a Macer assistant as she coached Kim Cook to First Team- All- MEC- as well as leading Cook to the All-Tournament team. In that 2017-18 season the Falcons set a school record with 23 wins, which was the first 20 win season in program history. That season was the first of two trips for the Falcons to the MEC Championship Game.

In the 2018-19 season Gordon helped the Falcons have a stellar season on the glass. 71 percent of the missed shots by the opponent were rebounded by NDC on the defensive glass. NDC was second in rebounding defense- and- fifth in rebounding offense during the campaign. The Falcons were fourth in the MEC in blocked shots that season, and had a positive rebounding margin on the year.

Jessie Stout was First Team Honorable mention in the 2019-20 season, that saw the Falcons set school record with 26 wins, 18 MEC wins, and 12 road wins, good enough to qualify for the NCAA tournament for the first time in school history, only to have it cancelled by COVID-19. Since joining forces in that first season, Macer, and Gordon have led the Falcons to a 78-32 overall record, and 60-22 in the MEC. The Falcons made it to the MEC Championship Game for the second time since with Gordon on the sidelines.

Following the 2019-20 season Gordon was listed on the 30 under thirty list, then this season she received the award. Gordon was the only DII women's coach to do so this season, as she joined Macer from last season.

Prior to coming to NDC, Gordon spent two seasons as the Graduate Assistant at Cleveland State University, where she assisted in the planning of practices, and execution of practices, and coordinating all the recruiting needs of the program.

As a player Gordon was a stand-out athlete at CSU. She ranks in the top 10 in scoring, rebounding, and free throw attempts in school history. She twice was named the Team MVP, and was part of the winningest senior class in CSU program history. She led the team to it's first WNIT Tournament berth, was named All-Conference twice, and Second-Team All Conference once. Gordon earned a pair of degrees from Cleveland State, including a Master of Education, Sports Management (2017,) and a Bachelor of Science, psychology, Criminology (2015.)
