Looking To Turn a Corner.

The Notre Dame College Falcons have been playing much better basketball of late. Winners of three of the last four the Falcons will look to get just the teams second road win of the season when they travel to West Virginia Wesleyan College to battle the Bobcats at the Rockefeller Center on Wednesday night. The Bobcats have just won two games at home on the season.

Drew Scarberry talked about the game ahead and how the squad has been looking forward to it since the first meeting slipped away on 12/14:

"We have been looking forward to this rematch for a long time.We are a lot different team than we were back then. When we execute and play harder than the other team for 40 minutes we have a chance to beat anyone."Scarberry stated.

Jordan Burton talked about the fact that actions speak louder than words:

" Everything we say can't just be verbal- we have to show it and do it. We are a very good team when we follow our game plan."Burton explained.

Bruce Hodges talked about the goal being the same every game no matter the opponent:

"We just gotta play harder than the other team for 40 minutes- and- stick together through all the adversity."Hodges said.

NDC (7-13 5-9 MEC) looks to avenge that 101-95 overtime loss in which they held a 19 point halftime lead. DeAnthony Owens scored 27 points- Scarberry scored 24- and- Levi Frankland notched 21 in the first contest. Burton also had a solid game in the first meeting scoring eight points- and- dishing out eight assists.

Coach Mark Richmond talked about how the team has not forgotten about that game:

"We just talked about it the other day. We have had this one circled since then."Richmond mentioned.

Last time out the Falcons dug themselves a 21 point hole- battled back and got to within three on a pair of occasions in the last 2:30 minutes- but fell 83-75 to Glenville State on Saturday. Owens scored 25- Frankland netted 22- and- Scarberry scored all 12 of his points in the second half in the contest. NDC shot 55 percent from the field- and- 44 percent (8-18) from the 3-point line in the game. That included a second half in which they shot 68 percent from the field- and- went six of seven from the 3-point line in the second stanza. The Falcons come into Wednesday's contest scoring 79 points per game which is sixth in the MEC- and- giving up 80.1 points per game which is fifth on the defensive end in the conference. NDC holds a slight edge on the glass where they are out rebounding opponents 35.3-34.7 (+0.6) which makes them fifth in rebounding margin in the MEC.

As he has all season long Frankland paces the Falcons box score averaging a MEC fifth best 18.1 points per game- he shoots 55 percent from the field which is good for sixth in the MEC- and- 44 percent from the 3-point line which is third best in the conference. Owens is scoring 17 points per night- grabbing a team leading and MEC 10th best 6.6 rebounds per game while he is also 10th in field goal percentage in the conference shooting at a 51 percent clip. Scarberry is scoring 15.1 points per game- and- is sixth in the MEC shooting at a 35 percent clip from the 3-point line. Burton is seventh in the MEC averaging 3.5 assists per night. Frankland is fifth and Scarberry sixth in 3-point makes per game at 2.5- and- 2.6 makes per night.
