Men's Basketball Kicks Off New Season After Scrimmage With Walsh.

The Notre Dame College Men's basketball team hit the hardwood for the first time in front of some people when they scrimmaged Walsh on Wednesday at Murphy Gym.

" I am excited about our team. It was nice to be back to a little bit of normalcy after the Covid year we are coming off of. We appreciate Walsh for coming out to play us, "Coach Mark Richmond explained.

NDC got off to a quick start with the first group. How those five guys were selected may surprise you:

"We actually voted on the starters today. I knew we were going to play a ton of people. It was the guys who got the most votes though that got the start, "Richmond mentioned.

He continued and talked about his guys maybe being a little too anxious :

"We were maybe a little anxious after that. " The good thing about the mistakes that we made today is that a lot of them are correctable."

Richmond talked about adversity:

"I thought we did not respond to adversity as well as we could have. We didn't play well for 40 minutes but we did do some good things. "

After one more scrimmage on Tuesday the Falcons will open the regular season against Slippery Rock on November 12th.
