Millersville Shoots Past Falcons.

The Notre Dame College Falcons played for the second time in less than 24 hours and it showed in the second half of a 82-61 loss to Millersville in day two of the Conference Challenge hosted by Fairmont State. Millersville leaves Fairmont 1-1 after a 87-86 loss to Fairmont on Friday night. NDC on the other hand will leave with an 0-2 record after a buzzer beating loss to Slippery Rock in the opener.

NDC was led by Levi Frankland, who led the team in scoring for the second straight day. Frankland scored 18 points- Jordan Burton scored 17- Larenz Thurman tallied 12- and- Bryce Douglas scored nine in a losing effort. NDC shot just 37 percent from the field- and- 25 percent (6-24) from the 3-point line in the defeat. NDC shot 60 percent (9-15) at the free throw line. The Falcons had 10 assists and 14 turnovers as a team.

Millersville was led by a 30-point outburst from Jaden Faulkner- James Sullivan scored 11- while Khari Williams and Justin Nwosu each tallied 10. The Marauders shot 52 percent as a team- 36 percent (8-22) from the 3-point line- and- 80 percent (8-10) from the free throw line. The Marauders crushed NDC on the boards 44-32. They had 13 assists- and- 14 turnovers.

For the second straight day NDC would get out to a quick start as they led 8-2 in the early going. That lead would not last long as Millersville would take a 12-10 lead into the first media time out of the contest. The Marauders would go on a run and lead by 10 (22-12) but NDC would battle back to get to within one (27-26) with five minutes to go in the half. The Marauders would end up taking a 41-35 lead into the locker room.

The Marauders were led by 13 points from Faulkner and- nine from Sullivan in the opening half. Millersville shot 52 percent from the field and 50 percent from the 3-point line in the half.

NDC was led by Burton with 14 points in the opening half- while Frankland scored seven in the half. NDC shot 40 percent as a team- and- 25 percent (3-12) from the 3-point line.

Millersville jumped out to a double digit lead in the second half and led by as many as 22. NDC made a couple of mini runs but could not get the lead back into single digits rest of the way.

Bruce Hodges talked about suffering an injury today and what lies ahead for the home opener:

"Gotta bounce back. It sucks not being out there (Hodges played two minutes Saturday) but we will bounce back- have a good week of practice- and- be ready to go on the 18th."

The Falcons will face Edinboro in the home opener on 11/18. Tip time is set for 6:30 PM
