Mount Aloysius Comes To South Euclid In Friday Matinee.

The Notre Dame College Falcons (6-4 4-2 MEC) welcome the Mount Aloysius College Mounties (4-7) to South Euclid For a 4 PM tip on Friday at Murphy Gym. You can catch all the action on NotreDameFalcons.com.

"It is a good opportunity to get back on the floor and get our feet under us, "NDC Guard Jaedon Willis mentioned. "The key for us is to come out, play fast, and set the tempo early."

"We are excited to get back on the floor and start the second half of our season Friday, "NDC Head Coach Mark Richmond explained. "We will have a few days to get back in shape and prepare for Mount Aloysius after the break we just had."

"It's gonna be about us, "Guard Gbolahan Adio explained. "We had a break so we have to make sure we are sharp and continue to grow as a team."

NDC is riding a three game win streak. The most recent victory was a 83-57 win over D'Youville. Willis led five players in double figures with 21 points, Andre Harris tallied 18 points and hauled in 13 rebounds, Tyland Crawford stuffed the stat sheet with 12 points, 11 rebounds, and eight assists. DeAirius Barker added 11, and Obinna Ugwuakazi added 10 to go with six boards. The Falcons shot 46 percent from the floor, 35.7 percent (5-14) from the 3-point line, and 64.5 percent (20-31) at the free throw line. The Falcons also dominated the glass 57-41 in the contest.

NDC comes into Friday scoring an MEC fifth best 82.6 points per game while they allow an MEC second best 75.1 points per night. During the current three game win streak the Falcons have held each opponent under 65 points. NDC is shooting 45.6 percent from the field which is fourth in the conference, while defensively they are holding the opposition to an NDC second best 39.9 percent shooting on the season. The Falcons are third in the conference shooting 36.7 percent from the 3-point line but lead the conference holding the opposition to 28 percent shooting from 3-point land. NDC shoots at a 72 percent clip from the free throw line which is fifth in the MEC. On the glass the Falcons are fifth in the conference out-rebounding the opposition by 1.4 (40.8-39.4) rebounds per night.

Willis leads NDC, is third in the conference and 22nd in the country scoring 20.9 points per game. The Baltimore native also leads the team shooting at an 86.5 percent clip (64-74) from the free throw line which is 11th in the country and leads the team. Barker is the only other Falcons averaging double figures at 10.7 points per contest. The Cincinnati Princeton Product also leads the team in assists with 27 for the year. Harris leads the team on the glass grabbing 6.1 rebounds per contest to go with his 9.7 points per game.

Richmond talked about scheduling this game:

"We thought we needed a game this week to prepare us and get back in action before league play."

The Mounties come in with a 4-7 record. This game will be an exhibition for them (will not count towards the teams record.) They were a 73-54 loser to Southern Virginia last time out. Will Hagwood lead MAC with 19 points while Alphonso Morrow added 11. The Mounties shot 33.9 percent from the field, 17.6 percent (3-17) from the 3-point line, and 52.9 percent (9-17) from the free throw line. On the season they average 70.7 points per game, while they give up 79.7 points per contest. They shoot 41.1 percent from the field as a team, 31.1 percent from the 3-point line, and 65.5 percent from the free throw line. On the glass they are +11.4 (45.8-34.4) rebounds per contest.

Hagwood puts up 15.3 points per game. Jason Coronado (15.1 points per game) and De'Von Haggans who puts up 13.4 points per night. De'Von Haggans leads the team on the glass getting eight rebounds per night. Hagwood and Trent Ramirez-Keller share the team lead with 24 assists on the season.
