NDC Battles Wright State Lake Wednesday.

The Notre Dame College Falcons coming off a 70-66 loss to Edinboro in the home opener on Monday evening will host the Lakers of Wright State Lake. The game will tip at 6:30 PM and you can catch all the action on NotreDameFalcons.com from Murphy Gymnasium.

Coach Mark Richmond talked about the importance of a good start and putting together a 40 minute game tonight:

" For the last 48 hours we have been preaching the importance of putting together a 40 minute game- and- obviously you can not do that without getting off to a good start. I am not sure why it has been but we have not gotten off to good starts." Richmond stated.

Bruce Hodges talked about being ready to go as a team:

" We must come out ready to play from the jump." Hodges mentioned.

NDC (0-3) was led by Levi Frankland who scored 15 of his 19 points in the second half of the contest- Larenz Thurman added 14 of his 17 in the second stanza of the home opener. Frankland leads the season box score putting up 21 points per night- the redshirt sophomore from Australia also hauls in 6.3 rebounds per night. Thurman is second on the team in scoring putting up 14.3 per game- while Jordan Burton is also averaging double figures netting 10 per night. The Falcons are averaging 6.3 steals per game in the early going- while they have struggled on the glass being out rebounded 41.3-34.

Richmond talked about the main objective and then continued about the possibility of getting more guys a chance tonight:

" Obviously winning the game is objective number one tonight, just like every night. Then we will go from there. If we play well that will help in getting a chance to some other guys and seeing what we have with these guys that we will need down the road. We have played in so many close games I have not had a chance to get some guys in or play as many as I would like.."

The Lakers (2-8) have lost four straight. They were a 127-78 loser to Tiffin and then gave up 24 3-pointer's in a loss to Walsh College Saturday. The Lakers shot 40 percent from the field- 28 percent from the 3-point line- and- 53 percent (8-15) from the free throw line in the loss versus Tiffin. As a team the Lakers average 73.2 points per game- while they struggle on the defensive end allowing 99.6 per contest. Chaz Hardin is stuffing the stat sheet for the Lakers netting 11.6 points per game- dishing out 3.8 assists per night- and- getting 2.3 steals per contest.

Richmond talked about the opponent:

" They have dynamic guards and of course we need to do a better job than we did the other night and not let them get going like Coleman did. We need to play much better team defense. So far our individual defense has been ok but we need to play better team defense."
