NDC Breaks Into Regional Rankings

What a difference a week makes. The second addition of the Atlantic Region Rankings came out on Monday and the Notre Dame College Falcons after a pair of conference wins last week over Glenville State and West Virginia Welseyan went from receiving votes to eighth in the region. The Falcons join fellow MEC schools West Liberty and Fairmont State in the top eight. The top eight teams come March will qualify for the NCAA tournament. Of course the Falcons are far from satisfied and have a tough week ahead traveling to Sheperd and Fairmont State.

Isaiah Sanders gave his take on where things stand at this point in the season:

" We definitely have work to do. I think this team is capable of being at the top of that list. We just have to keep playing NDC basketball the best way we know to prove ourselves and climb the mountain. We know what we can do and where we should be. We just have to stay consistent."

Drew Scarberry agreed:

" Like Zay said we know what has to be done and we know we can't look at any game as an easy win. We have to come in everyday and bust our butts. We have to focus on going 1-0 in practice and in games everyday."

NDC (10-4) was a 109-81 winner over Glenville State Thursday night as Will Vorhees and Scarberry led the way with 23 points each. On Saturday after a slow start in the first half- in which they trailed 32-27 NDC rallied for a 73-61 win against a defensive minded Wesleyan squad.

Atlantic Region Rankings:

1. Indiana (Pa) 14-1

2. West Liberty 11-2

3. Fairmont State 11-3

4. Shippensburg 14-3

5. Virginia State 12-3

6. East Stroudsburg 10-4

7. Slippery Rock 10-5

8. NDC 10-4
