NDC Celebrates Senior Day In Final Home Contest

The Notre Dame College Falcons will celebrate senior day tomorrow (3/2) when they take on the Salem Tigers in the final contest inside Murphy Gym. Tip time is set for 4 PM and you can catch all the action on MountainEast.TV

"Looking to close the regular season and "The Murph" with a win,"NDC head coach Mark Richmond mentioned.

"Getting a win for the final time at Notre Dame College," NDC junior guard Josh Dames stated.

NDC (13-13 8-12 MEC) is coming off a 88-87 loss to #14 West Liberty on Wednesday night. Gbolahan Adio scored 27 points, Devin Haid added 19 and nine rebounds, while RJ Ogom scored 14 to lead NDC. The Falcons shot 54.4 percent from the floor, 40 percent (8-20) from the 3-point line, and 73.9 percent (17-23) from the free throw line in the defeat. In the first meeting with Salem (a 86-77 NDC win on 1/27) Robbie Cass had 16, Jamarr Talbert netted 15, Trent Williams added 14, Josh Dames tallied 11 points and 11 rebounds, while Andre Harris addd 10. NDC shot 37 percent from the field, went 16-35 (45.7 percent) from the 3-point line and 69.6 percent (16-23) from the free throw line. NDC scores 83 points a game which is fourth in the MEC, shoots 45.3 percent from the field which is seventh in the MEC, an MEC sixth best 35.1 percent from the 3-point line, MEC eighth best 70.7 percent from the free throw line, and dish out an MEC fourth best 14.8 assists per night. On the defensive end the Falcons allow an MEC seventh best 83 points per game, are also seventh in field goal percentage against (44.6 percent) and at guarding the 3-point line (34.7 percent.) The Falcons are ninth in turnover margin, fifth in assist to turnover ratio, out rebound the opposition by 0.9 (38.8-37.9) rebounds per night. They also block an MEC third best 4.04 shots per game. Haid scores an MEC eighth best 15.7 points per game, grabs 5.6 rebounds per night, shooting an MEC third best 49.1 percent from the field. The redshirt sophomore from Wooster shoots an MEC seventh best 83.3 percent from the free throw line, dishes out 2.6 assists per game, blocks 0.9 shots per game, and is 10th in the MEC stealing the ball 1.3 times per contest. Harris gets 12.7 points per game while the Brush product grabs an MEC seventh best seven rebounds per night. RJ Ogom scores 11.7 per game. The redshirt junior from Chicago also shoots an MEC fifth best 84.2 percent from the free throw line.

Salem (6-21) has lost seven straight. The Tigers are coming off a 96-90 loss to Salem last time out. Nils Baumeigters paced the Tigers with 21 points, Ian Hardy netted 18, Audre Bills scored 16,while Ashraf Tchadouwa and Brandon Francois each tallied 13. They shot 51.5 percent from the field, 38.5 percent (10-26) from the 3-point line, and 54.5 percent (12-22) from the free throw line. In the first meeting with NDC Kapone Barley had 25, Hardy had 14, Jack Garrison added 13, and Francois tallied 11. Salem scores 71,2 points per game, shoots 43.1 percent from the field, 31.7 percent from the 3-point line, and 66.8 percent from the free throw line while dishing out 9.6 assists per contest. SU allows 84 points per game, 44.6 percent shooting from the floor, 36.3 percent at guarding the 3-point line, are -4.5 in turnover margin and block 2.6 shots per night. On the glass they out rebound the opposition by 0.8 (37.9-37.1) rebounds per night. Hardy (12.7 points per game,) Barley (12.0 ppg,) Garrison (11.9 ppg,) Davis (11.2 ppg) and Tchaudowa (11.2 ppg) all average in double figures on the season. Francois leads the team in assists (3.15) and steals (2.15) per night.
