NDC Heads To Wheeling To Begin Conference Play Saturday.

The Notre Dame College Falcons and Wheeling University Cardinals will battle on Saturday with the woman's game beginning at 12 PM and the Men to follow 30 minutes after. The game that was orginally scheduled to be played at Murphy Gym was moved to Wheeling earlier in the week due to a facilities conflict. The two teams will now meet in South Euclid on 1/22.As always you can catch all the action on NotreDameFalcons.com

NDC (1-3) has split a pair of games this week. The Falcons were a 70-66 loser to Edinboro in the home opener on Monday- before they pasted Wright State Lake 132-71 in Wednesday's contest. NDC senior Bruce Hodges talked about being a part of the first NDC team to win at Wheeling last season- and- what he expects in tomorrow's contest:

" It was great to go in there and win last season. It was a hard-fought game that we ended up winning by double digits. As for this one tomorrow we have to come out ready to play again and I think good things will happen." Hodges stated.

Coach Mark Richmond gave his thoughts about this contest:

" Obviously we have to bounce back once again. This is a player's dream though- all these games so close together with little to no practice time. We had some guys like Randy (Slink-) Dan (Lott-) and- Bryce (Douglas) amongst others really step up in the last game and we are happy about that. I was hesitant to put some of the guys in for those first three games but they really responded well when it was time to go in. We are going to need all these guys obviously and we will hopefully be starting to get some of these guys back in the next week or two." Richmond mentioned.

Frankland paces the Falcons in scoring at 19 points per contest- while he is also hauling in 6.8 rebounds per game. Larenz Thurman is putting up 13.5 points per night- while Douglas is scoring 12 points per game after his 27 point effort on Wednesday. The freshman is shooting 54 percent from the field- and 46 percent from the 3-point line thus far this season. Randy Slink put up 12 points as well on Wednesday, in the only game he has seen action thus far this season. Jordan Burton is scoring 10.5 points per night to round out the double digit scorers- while Walker-Bey and Drew Scarberry share the team lead in rebounding at seven per night. As a team the Falcons score 83.8 points per game on the offensive end- while defensively they give up 75.3 per contest. NDC is out rebounding the opponent 41.3-36.0 on the early season.

Wheeling (2-0) defeated Seton Hill 83-71 in the opener- while they thrashed Malone 82-52 last time out. Last time out the Cardinals were led by a double-double (23 points and 11 rebounds) from Emmanuel Ansong- Jordan Reid scored 14- while Jay Gentry and Jarrett Haines each netted 10. WU shot 57 percent from the field in the contest- 36 percent (5-14) from the 3-point line- and- 64 percent (7-11) from the free throw line in a wire to wire victory.
