NDC Hits The Road Saturday.

The Notre Dame College Falcons hit the road on Saturday as they travel to Phillipi, West Virginia to take on the Alderson Broaddus University Battlers at 4 PM at Rex Pyles Arena. The game is the first of two meetings between the two teams, as they will meet in South Euclid in the season finale. The game is also the first game of a two game road swing for NDC. NDC Head Coach Mark Richmond gave his thoughts on this one:

" Our team is excited to take a trip to play another quality opponent, "Richmond mentioned.

"We've come close several times on the road. We need to play really well and find a way to win at AB. "

NDC (10-7 7-4 MEC) snapped a three game losing skid with a 82-64 win against Wheeling on Wednesday that completed the season sweep of the Cardinals. Jaedon Willis knocked down seven 3-pointer's on his way to a game high 28 points to go along with six assists, Mike Sampson added 15 points and 10 rebounds, while Tyland Crawford tallied 10 points, eight rebounds, and a pair of steals in the victory. NDC shot 46 percent from the field, 42 percent (10-24) from the 3-point line, and 86 percent (12-14) from the free throw line. The Falcons won the rebounding battle 40-36 and had 17 assists to go along with nine turnovers in the game.

NDC is averaging an MEC sixth best 79.6 points per game on the offensive end, while defensively they are fourth in the MEC giving up 78.4 points per contest. They shoot 47 percent from the floor which is fifth in the conference, while they are third in the MEC shooting 38.5 percent from the 3-point line. They shoot an MEC sixth best 72 percent at the free throw line. On the glass the Falcons are ninth in the MEC being out rebounded by 2.5 (34.3-36.8) boards per night. NDC is third in turnover margin and second in the conference in assist to turnover ratio. Willis is pouring in a team leading and MEC third best 21.6 points per contest. The Baltimore native is third in 3-point percentage (39.5,) and continues to lead the conference in 3-pointer's made per game (3.4.) Willis also leads the team in assists at 2.9 per night. Crawford is scoring 12 points per game, while Mike Sampson is netting 10.8 per game while grabbing an MEC fifth best 8.4 rebounds per night.

The Battlers (7-7 4-6 MEC) have lost two straight and are coming off taking a 107-70 thrashing against #15 West Liberty last time out. Four of the Battlers seven wins have come at home. In the loss to West Liberty Zach Simpkins paced AB with 15 points while Jadakis Mack netted 14. They shot 46 percent from the field, 38 percent (6-16) from the 3-point line, and 55 percent (12-22) at the free throw line. The Battlers score 78.9 points per game which is eighth in the MEC, while they give up 82.5 points per contest which is seventh in the MEC. AB shoots an MEC fourth best 47.6 percent from the field while they shoot 29 percent from the 3-point line which is 12th in the conference. At the free throw line AB shoots 66 percent which is 11th in the conference. On the glass they are being out rebounded by 2.4 (33.9-36.3) boards per game which is eighth in the MEC. KJ Walker leads the team in scoring at 16 points per game, while Jalen Collins scores 12.6 per night. John Grayson leads the team on the glass getting 6.6 boards per contest while Walker leads the team in assists at 4.5 per contest.

Richmond gave his final thought on this one:

"I think we've improved over the last three weeks since returning after Christmas. Now we need the results to show that. It's a result based business so we need to go make that happen."
