NDC Hosts Urbana Saturday.

The Notre Dame College Falcons will play the second home game of the week Saturday when they host the Urbana Blue Knights at Murphy Gym. The game is slated to tip at 4 PM and you can catch all the action on NotreDameFalcons.com

NDC (12-5 8-3 MEC) is coming off a 95-76 win over Wheeling Jesuit on Wednesday night. Will Vorhees paced the Falcons with a season high 41 points to go along with eight rebounds. Halil Parks scored 20 points and grabbed eight rebounds. Drew Scarberry knocked down six 3-pointer's and scored 18 points. The Falcons shot 52 percent from the field and 44 percent from the 3-point line in the victory. NDC shot 73 percent (8-11) from the free throw line- and- won the rebounding battle 39-27. NDC had 16 assists and 14 turnovers in the victory. NDC comes into the game scoring 84.9 points per game- while defensively they allow 78.3 points per contest. The Falcons make 9.8 3-pointer's per game on average as a team- they are also second in the MEC in free throw percentage- shooting at a 78 percent clip. Only Concord shoots it better from the foul line. The Falcons get to the free throw line 17.2 times per game- while the opponent goes to the line 12.9 times per contest. NDC also averages 3.5 blocks per game as a team.

Vorhees leads the team averaging 25.0 points per game- while he corrals 10.9 rebounds per contest. Larenz Thurman is second on the team in scoring at 17.5 points per game- while he shoots 43 percent from the 3-point line- and- 84 percent at the free throw line. Thurman also leads the team in assists at 4.9 per contest. Isaiah Sanders is scoring 12.1 points per game- Halil Parks scores 10.8 per night-and- Drew Scarberry leads the team in 3-pointer's made with 47 on the season. He shoots 40 percent from the 3-point line- and- averages 9.4 points per night.

Coach Tim Koenig talked about the keys to the game:

" Defense is always a key- but especially against a team like this. Also we need to take care of the ball- and- take good shots. They (Urbana) have some really good players. Treacy went off for 33 against Fairmont State- Ethan Snapp is shooting 56 percent from the 3-point line- and- Jacobs is there leading scorer- and- is a really good player himself."

Urbana (5-10 3-8 MEC) is coning off a 91-78 loss to West Liberty on Wednesday night. Snapp scored 17 points in the game- while Jacobs and Jordan Bradley added 15 points each. The Blue Knights shot 48 percent from the field and 52 percent from the 3-point line (11-21) in the contest. Urabana has lost two straight- but had the biggest upset of the season when they won at Fairmont State on January 17th 78-76. In that game Matt Treacy poured in a game high 33 points. Jacobs added 16 in the contest. The Blue Knights shot 55 percent as a team- and- 50 percent (7-14) from the 3-point line. They shot 75 percent (9-12) from the free throw line as a team.

Urbana is led by Jacobs who is scoring 16.3 points and grabbing 6.5 rebounds a night. Treacy puts up 14.8 per night and grabs 5.1 rebounds a contest. Ethan Snapp puts up 13.1 points per game and is shooting 56 percent from the 3-point line on the season. Datrey Long averages 10.7 points per game- and- Jordan Bradley puts up 10.2 points per game. The Blue Knights score 81.5 points per game- while they allow 86.5 per contest. They shot at a 40 percent clip from the 3-point line- while they allow 42 percent shooting by the opposition from the 3-point line.

Koenig talked about Thurman bouncing back from a tough game last time out:

" Larenz will not have two bad games in a row. He had an uncharacteristically tough night on Wednesday. He will start at the point for us and we will ride him for heavy minutes." Koenig said."

Bruce Hodges added his insight on the upcoming contest:

" We have to come out ready to play. They are no push over. They have been playing really well so we must come out ready to play." Hodges said."
