NDC Looks To Bounce Back Wednesday Night.

The Notre Dame College Falcons (5-2 3-1 MEC) look to bounce back when they host the Davis & Elkins Senators (2-5 1-3 MEC) inside Murphy Gym on Wednesday. Tip time is set for 7:30 PM. You can catch all the action on the Mountain East Digital Network at MountainEast.TV


Coach Mark Richmond talked about the matchup:

" I am looking forward to seeing how our team responds after a quick turnaround and a loss to Lourdes on Monday,"Richmond explained.

The Falcons are coming off a 81-71 loss at home against Lourdes University last time out. Jaedon Willis led the way for the Falcons with 25 points and four steals in the loss. Mike Sampson added 11 points, five rebounds, and four steals, while Daylin Lee contributed 10. NDC shot 44 percent from the field, and 44 percent from the 3-point line (11-25) in the contest. They were a perfect four of four at the free throw line. NDC is averaging 81.4 points per game which is good for fifth in the conference, while they allow 81.4 points per night which is fifth in the MEC. They are third in the MEC in field goal percentage shooting at a 48 percent clip, while they are in the top spot in the MEC when it comes to 3-point percentage shooting 43 percent for the year. They are fifth in the MEC shooting at a 74 percent from the free throw line. The Falcons are getting 33.3 rebounds per night which is 4.1 rebounds per game less than the opposition (37.4 per night.) As a team the Falcons are getting 8.3 assists per night.

Willis paces the Falcons scoring 23.7 points per night which is good for third in the MEC. He also shoots 44 percent from the 3-point line which is good for third in the conference. Additionally Willis is tops in the conference in 3-pointer's per game as he is getting 3.7 per contest on the year. Willis is fourth in the MEC in minutes played at 34.6 per game. Crawford is third in the MEC in minutes played playing 35.1 minutes per night. Crawford is scoring 13.3 points per night. Sampson is scoring 10.4 points per game, while he is fourth in the MEC in rebounds per game at 8.3. Sampson is sixth in the MEC in minutes played at 34.4 per night.


The Senators are coming off a 100-69 loss to West Liberty last time out. Breland Walton and Sam Rolle combined for 53 of the team's 69 points in the contest. D& E comes into the contest averaging 75.4 points per game which is 10th in the MEC. They are seventh in the MEC allowing 81.7 points per night. They are eighth in the MEC shooting at a 44 percent clip from the field . They are shooting 29 percent from the 3-point line which is 11th in the conference. The Senators are third in the MEC in rebounding margin as they are getting 1.3 more rebounds per night than the opposition.


Rolle leads the season box score and is fourth in the MEC putting up 20.7 points per contest. He is shooting at a 51 percent clip, and is second in the MEC averaging 5.9 assists per game. Rolle leads the MEC in minutes played at 36.1 minutes per night. Walton also averages in double figures netting 18 points per game while he is tops in the MEC grabbing 11.7 rebounds per night. Walton is also fourth in the MEC shooting at a 52 percent clip from the field. Evan Busby closes out the double digit scorers tallying 10 points per night.
