NDC Looks To Continue Winning Ways At Home.

The Notre Dame College Falcons will look to continue a five game home win streak on Wednesday as they welcome Charleston for a 7:30 PM tip inside of Muprhy Gym. NDC comes into the game with a record of 9-15 and 7-11 in the MEC. While the Golden Eagles come into the contest with a record of 19-5 and 13-5 in the MEC.

NDC Coach Mark Richmond talked about the home court advantage and what he wants to see Wednesday night:

" I feel very confident against anyone on our home floor. We have to continue to work and Charleston is a team that has been nationally ranked this season. We need a great atmosphere and great crowd to give us a chance."Richmond stated.

DeAnthony Owens talked about what a different team the Falcons are than they were the last time they played Charleston:

" We are a completely different team than the first time. I really like how much we have grown. We haven't reached our peek yet."Owens mentioned.

NDC is coming off a 77-68 win over Frostburg State on Saturday. Owens paced the Falcons with 21 points and eight rebounds- Scarberry added 13 and six rebounds- while Levi Frankland netted 13- and- grabbed seven boards. Bruce Hodges added 11 points- and- a pair of steals while Jordan Burton netted nine points- and- had a career high nine rebounds. The Falcons shot 42 percent from the field- 19 percent (4-21) from the 3-point line- and- 92 percent (23-25) from the free throw line.

The Falcons come into the contest averaging a MEC sixth best 77.9 points per game on the offensive end- while defensively they are allowing a MEC fifth best 79.6 points per night. The Falcons are getting 34.4 rebounds per game- while the opposition is getting that same number.

Frankland leads the season box score putting up 17.7 points per game which is good for 10th in the conference. Frankland is also seventh in the conference in 3-pointer's made per game at 2.6 per night. Owens is netting 16.1 points per game- as well as grabbing a team leading 6.4 rebounds per contest. Owens is also 10th in the MEC in free throw percentage shooting at a 77 percent clip from the foul line. Drew Scarberry averages 15.8 points per game- and- shoots 35 percent from the 3-point line- while Burton is stuffing the stat sheet averaging 9.3 points- 3.9 rebounds- and- a team leading as well as MEC sixth best 3.6 assists per game.

When asked what the key was to keeping the home streak alive Scarberry had this to say:

" Execute the game plan and play a full 40 minutes."Scarberry mentioned.

Dan Lott gave his thoughts:

" Against this team high energy and against this team especially you have to rebound." Lott stated.

Hodges talked about sticking together:

" Continue to play together is my biggest key."Hodges explained.

In the first meeting with Charleston back on 1/18 the short handed Falcons were led by Owens with 26- Frankland had 20- and- Scarberry added 10 in the losing effort.

Charleston is coming off a 75-62 win over West Virginia Wesleyan on Saturday. Lamont McManus led the way with 21 points- Drew Rackley added 14- while Seth O'Neal tallied 11. Devon Robinson had a team leading 14 rebounds to go with eight points. They shot 47 percent from the field- 36 percent (9-25) from the 3-point line- and- 67 percent (14-21) from the free throw line. They won the rebounding battle 32-27.

Charleston is scoring a MEC fifth best 82.4 points per game- while defensively they allow a MEC leading 71.6 points per night. The Golden Eagles are shooting 40 percent from the 3-point line which is second in the conference as well. They have been really good on the boards where they get 35.7 rebounds per night- as opposed to allowing just 28 per contest.

Rackley leads the team in scoring and is sixth in the MEC scoring 18.4 points per contest- he is also second in the MEC shooting 44 percent from the 3-point line. McManus leads the MEC in field goal percentage shooting at a 69 percent clip- and- is scoring 14.8 points per game. Seth O'Neal is leading the team- and- is third in assists in the MEC dishing out five assists per night to go with his 13.4 points per game. Robinson is leading the MEC at 11.0 rebounds per game- while he scores 13 points per game.
