NDC Men's Basketball 2022-23 Schedule Set.

The Notre Dame College Men's basketball schedule is set for the 2022-23 campaign. The Falcons will open with an exhibition game at the Wolstein Center against Division I Cleveland State. The last time the Falcons walked out of the Wolstein Center they were a 69-64 winner on 10/30/2019.

"The guys are excited to play CSU in the exhibition, "Coach Mark Richmond mentioned."

"It will be the first time they will play in front of fans this season. Obviously we want to win, but we want to get a lot more out of it than the end result. The kids are excited for that though,"Richmond added. That game will take place on November 7th. Then the Falcons will head to Slippery Rock. Richmond talked about that:

"Then we will go to Slippery Rock to play Seton Hill (11/11 and Slippery Rock 11/12.) in a conference challenge type environment. Last year this event propelled us to a 2-0 start which is important in getting us off to a fast start. We are hoping to do that again this season."

NDC will then battle Bryant &Stratton at Murphy Gym on 11/16 before jumping into conference play. Richmond talked about the challenge ahead:

"We get into conference play early with Wheeling on 11/19 at home and then we travel to West Liberty (11/22) which is never easy. Then you are into the grind of it. We made a conscious effort to schedule as many home games as possible this year when we could. Being the outlier in the conference we have to do a lot of traveling, so we schedule games at home when we can."

The Falcons host Glenville State on 11/30 before traveling to Concord (12/3) and Davis & Elkins (12/7) in a two game road swing. Next the Falcons host West Virginia Wesleyan (12/10.) On 12/19 NDC travels to D'Youville. Richmond gave his thoughts:

"We will wrap up the first half of the year and take a trip to Buffalo over christmas break to play a new Division II school in D'Youville. We will take the guys to Niagara Falls and do some things like that on this trip."

NDC will then host Mount Aloysius College on 12/30 to wrap up 2022. They will open 2023 with a trip to Frostburg on 1/4. Next up West Virginia State comes to Murphy Gym (1/11.) Then a two game trip to University of Charleston (1/14 and Wheeling (1/18) ensues. Alderson Broaddus (1/21) and Concord (1/25) come to South Euclid for the next two contests respectively. After a game at Glenville State (1/28,) Penn State Fayette comes to town (1/30.) Davis & Elkins opens February (2/4) at Murphy Gymnasium. A trip to Fairmont State (2/8) is next on the slate. Frostburg State (2/11) is the next home date for NDC, before Charleston comes to town (2/15.) A trip to West Virginia State is next (2/18,) then West Liberty comes to NDC on 2/22. NDC travels to Alderson Broaddus (2/25) to close out the regular season. Then the MEC Tournament returns to WesBanco Arena in Wheeling, West Virginia (3/1-3-5.)

Richmond gave his thoughts:

"January and February are the crucial months and we want to be playing our best basketball heading into the tournament in March."

Richmond then spoke about what he has coming back this season:

"We are excited about our core nucleus of our team. Guys with some experience coming back.

"We have a guy like Jaedon (Willis) who has played a lot of games at a few different places who has been here for a year now. Tyland (Crawford) is a grad student now. We have a few younger guys who got some valuable experience last year, guys like DeAirius (Barker,) GB (Gbolohan Adio,) Obi (Obinna Ugwuakazi,) and Jamarr (Talbert Jr.)
