NDC Moves Up A Spot To Get back In Top Eight Of SIDA Regional Rankings.

The Notre Dame College Falcons (13-5) moved up one spot to eight in the latest SIDA regional rankings released on Monday morning. The top four in the region stayed unchanged as Indiana (PA) remained in the top spot- while West Liberty- Virginia State- and- Fairmont State remained in spots two thru four. Slippery Rock moved up to fifth- West Chester slid into the sixth spot- Shippensburg fell to seven- while the Falcons moved up to eighth. Concord moved up one spot to the ninth position- while East Stroudsburg fell to 10th.

NDC won a pair of games last week. They were a 95-76 winner over Wheeling Jesuit on Wednesday- before a 100-72 win over Urbana on Saturday. Will Vorhees combined for 69 points in the two games on the week and grabbed 19 rebounds. The redshirt senior became the first player in NDC and MEC history to score 2,000 points and grab 1,000 rebounds when he collected his ninth rebound of the day on Saturday. Halil Parks averaged 15.5 points per game- while Drew Scarberry scored 18- and- 11 points respectively in the two contests. Larenz Thurman had a monster game with 31 points on eight made 3-pointer's on Saurday- after scoring seven in the Wednesday game.

NDC will be back in action for a pair of games this week. They will travel to West Virginia State on Wednesday. The Falcons were a 95-84 winner over the Yellow Jackets in the first meeting. That game will tip at 7:30 PM. and you can catch the all action on NotreDameFalcons.com. Saturday the Falcons will return home for a rematch with Charleston who defeated NDC 86-81 in overtime in the first meeting.

Angelo Cugini talked about it:

" Very happy to be in the top eight but we need to move up to be a for sure lock because of the automatic bid. We know what we have to do- to keep playing hard -and- we have some must win games coming up. Actually every game is a must win. We just have to keep playing together and keep playing hard." Cugini said.

Bruce Hodges agreed:

" We want to keep moving up so we can get a lock on the tourney. We want to be the first team to do it." Hodges said.
