NDC Releases Mens Hoops Schedule Monday Night.

The Notre Dame College Falcons men's basketball program released the schedule for the 2019-20 basketball season on Momday evening. NDC will open the season with a scrimmage against Walsh on 10/25- they will also have a scrimmage against MercyHurst who reached the NCAA DII Elite Eight a year ago. The Falcons will also battle Cleveland State in a exhibition game on 10/30. For the second season in a row NDC will play in the Conference Challenge at Fairmont State and open with a matchup against Slippery Rock on 11/9. The Falcons will face former Coach Tim Koenig and Fairmont State on 1/11 at Murphy Gym before heading back to Fairmont to face the Fighting Falcons on 2/12. The conference tournament will be held from March 4-8 at Wesbanco Arena in Wheeling, West Virginia as the Falcons will return as the defending MEC Tournament Champs.

NDC senior guard Bruce Hodges had these thoughts about the schedule:

" I like the tough schedule out of the gate! It tests you as a team. We want to be back in the NCAA so we know we have to come ready to play in every game. Yes the Fairmont and West Liberty games are big ones but right now we are worried about one game at a time. Coming together as a team early is important for the rest of the year!" Hodges stated.

First year Head Coach Mark Richmond gave his thoughts about the schedule as well:

" You like to challenge yourself right away. A pair of those games (Walsh and MercyHurst) are scrimmages. We also play Cleveland State which is exciting. It will be exciting to go across town and see where we are at as a team. CSU will be excited as well as they have a new coach. It should be fun to play in front of a crowd and atmosphere at Cleveland State. For the second year in a row we will play in the Conference Challenge and open with Slippery Rock. We also play Millersville in the Conference Challenge. That challenge will be a tough test early. Then we will roll right into league play shortly after that. The good thing about our conference is it is a true round robin. You get to play each team twice home and home. It is a good league- a high scoring league. We will find out where we are this year and I look forward to it."

Senior Drew Scarberry talked about the upcoming season:

" Going off of what Bruce said every game is a big time game for us. We can't take any team lightly. We have to come into every game ready to battle, scratch and claw and earn everything this year. All eyes are on us, now we have to go out and show them why we are gonna be the champs again this year and continue making history for our program and our school."
