NDC Remains On The Road To Face Salem Saturday

The Notre Dame College Falcons remain on the road for the second game of a three game road swing Saturday when they take on the Salem University Tigers. Tip time is set for 4 PM from T.Edward Davis Gymnasium. You can catch all the action on NotreDameFalcons.com

"Back on the road at Salem Saturday. Need to build on our performance in the second half against Wheeling. We'll have to compete and play really hard to find success on the road," NDC head coach Mark Richmond explained.

NDC (8-8 4-7 MEC) is coming off a 80-71 come from behind win at Wheeling that completed the season sweep of the Cardinals. Josh Dames led the way with a season high 16 points to go along with seven rebounds, Devin Haid added 15 points, seven rebounds, and four assists, Jamarr Talbert netted a season high 11, while Andre Harris and Trent Williams each chipped in 10. NDC scored 50 points in the second half after trailed by eight at the break. They shot 43.3 percent in the contest, 27.6 percent (8-29) from the 3-point line, and 73.7 percent (14-19) at the free throw line. The Falcons won the rebounding battle 42-28. As a team NDC on offense scores an MEC seventh best 82.4 points per game, shoots an MEC fourth best 45.6 percent from the floor, an MEC ninth best 33.8 percent from 3-point land, and an MEC ninth best 70.9 percent from the free throw line. On the defensive side NDC gives up an MEC seventh best 82.1 points per game, 44.2 percent shooting (seventh in the MEC,) 35.5 percent from the 3-point line (ninth in the MEC) and on the glass they are being out rebounded by 0.9 (38.1-39.0) rebounds per night. The Falcons are seventh in turnover margin, dish out an MEC fourth best 15.13 assists per game, blocks 4.6 shots per game (third in the MEC) and get 15.33 fast break points per game which is 28th in all of Division 2. Haid leads the offense putting up 13.8 points per game, shoots an MEC best and eighth best in the country 92.3 percent from the free throw line, dishes out 2.6 assists per game, blocks an MEC seventh best 1.1 shots per night. The redshirt sophomore from Wooster gets an MEC seventh best 1.6 steals per game and plays a team leading 28.1 minutes per night. Harris scores 12.5 points per game, grabs an MEC sixth best 6.4 rebounds per night, blocks 0.9 shots per game, and gets 1.2 steals per contest. RJ Ogom scores 11.7 points per game, shoots an MEC second best 91.1 percent at the free throw line, and blocks 0.8 shots per contest. Gbolahan Adio rounds out the double digit scorers in the season box score at 10.8 points per game. The Richmond Heights product dishes out 2.4 assists per night and nabs 1.1 steal per contest.

Salem (5-12) is not a member of the MEC but has a 3-10 record against MEC opponents on the season. Last time out they were a 112-76 loser to West Liberty. Kapone Barley had 19 for the Tigers, Ian Hardy had 17, while both Khemanni Davis and Jack Garrison added 13. The Tigers shot 47.4 percent from the field, 25 percent (4-16) from the 3-point line, and 75 percent (18-24) from the free throw line. They score 69.7 points per game as a team while they allow 82.5 points per night. Salem shoots 42 percent from the field while the opposition shoots 43.8 percent on the defensive end. The Tigers shoot 31.6 percent from the 3-point line and 67.5 percent from the free throw line. On the glass the Tigers are +2.4 (39.6-37.4) rebounds per contest. They dish out 10.1 assists per game, are -5.3 in turnover margin, get 6.8 steals and block 2.4 shots per night. Hardy scores 13.1 points per game, Garrison nets 12.6 per contest, while the force in the paint is Ashraf Tchadouwa who scores 11.2 points and pulls down 10 rebounds per game. He also blocks 0.94 shots per night. Barley gets 11.1 points per game and dishes out more than two assists per contest while Brandon Francois leads the team in assists (3.05 per night) and steals (2.3 per contest.)

"We need another good W. The key is to play together on both ends," Williams mentioned.
