NDC Set To Take On Concord In Key Home MEC Matchup.

The Notre Dame College Falcons (4-1 2-1 MEC) are set to take on the Concord Mountain Lions (4-4 2-1 MEC) in a key contest at Murphy Gym. Tip time is set for 4 PM Saturday and you can catch all the action at NotreDameFalcons.com as well as on the MEC digital network at MEC.TV

Coach Mark Richmond talked about the challenge ahead:

"Concord is a tough challenge. They are playing really well, winning three games in a row. It will take a great effort Saturday, "Richmond mentioned.


After an eight day layoff NDC fell 97-91 at Glenville State on Wednesday night. The loss to GSC was the fifth straight loss for the Falcons against the Pioneers. Jaedon Willis scored 38 points in the defeat, while Tyland Crawford netted 11, and DeAirius Barker scored 10 in the contest. NDC shot 46 percent from the field, 38 percent (9-24) from the 3-point line, and 78 percent (18-23) from the free throw line.

The Falcons are paced in scoring by Willis who is tied for the top scorer in the conference netting 25 points per game, Crawford is getting 14.8 per night, and is 10th in the conference shooting at a 48 percent clip from the floor. Mike Sampson is contributing 11.2 per contest, and John Godinez is getting 11 points per night. Sampson leads the team in rebounding and is second in the conference grabbing 9.2 boards per night, while Willis is dishing out 4.2 assists per night which is fourth in the conference. Willis is shooting at a 41 percent clip from the 3-point line which is third in the MEC. In addition Sampson leads the team in steals and is fifth in the MEC getting 2.2 steals per night.

As a team the Falcons are averaging an MEC third best 87.2 points per game, while they allow 85.6 per night which is ninth in the conference. They are shooting 49.5 percent from the field which is second in the MEC and 44.5 percent from the 3-point line on the season. NDC is shooting at a 74.5 percent clip from the free throw line as well. The Falcons are dishing out 16 assists per contest, while they are being out rebounded by 1.4 (34.6-36.0) rebounds per contest. The Falcons are getting 7.6 steals per game, and blocking 1.4 shots per contest.

Richmond spoke about his teams week ahead:

" We're excited to be home for three games in a row. We have four games in seven days so we are going to find out a lot about our team over the next week. We are going to play a lot of players and need contributions across the board."


The Mountain Lions (4-4 2-1 MEC) are coming off a 75-73 win over Alderson Broaddus on Wednesday. Matt Weir paced Concord putting up 21 points. Lual Rahama scored 15 points, Da'Vion Moore and Ethan Heller netted 11. The Mountain Lions shot 42 percent from the field, and 54 percent (14-26) from the free throw line. They are led individually by Rahama who is scoring 17.5 points per game, Matt Weir is putting up 13.9 points per contest, while Ethan Heller is scoring 13 points per game. Rahama is seventh in the MEC and leads the Mountain Lions grabbing 6.9 rebounds per contest. Heller is 10th in the MEC and leads the Mountain Lions averaging 3.6 assists per night.

As a team the Mountain Lions score an MEC fifth leading 82.6 points per game, while they give up 86 points per contest which is 10th in the conference.
