The Notre Dame College Falcons after splitting a pair of games last week slipped to ninth in the Atlantic Region Rankings released by the SIDA (Sports Information Directors of America) poll released on Monday morning.
NDC (11-5 7-3 MEC) was a 87-78 winner over Shepherd on Thursday night. Will Vorhees had a season high 38 points and 14 rebounds- while Larenz Thurman knocked down six 3-pointer's- all in the second half when he scored 21 of his 23 points- Isaiah Sanders added 11. On Saturday the Falcons fell to the current fourth seed in the region rankings Fairmont State 97-86 at Joe Retton Arena. Thurman hit six 3-pointer's in the second half for a second straight game- and- scored a game high 31 points to go along with five assists- Will Vorhees added 16 points and nine rebounds- while Bruce Hodges scored 16 points- grabbed eight rebounds- and- had three steals in a losing effort.
Hodges gave his thoughts:
"We dropped some tough games that we shouldn't have and that hurts us in the regional rankings. We will continue to get the job done and get into the NCAA tournament."
