NDC Takes On Frostburg In Pivotal MEC Tilt.

The Notre Dame College Falcons (6-8-) and- the Frostburg State University Bobcats (4-9) will do battle in a pivotal MEC tilt on Wednesday night at Murphy Gym. The game is slated to tip at 7:30 PM. Coach Mark Richmond set up the contest:

"We are ready to get back at it on Wednesday. We lost a tough one at Frostburg at there place, so our guys are really focused, and ready for the rematch,"Richmond explained.

NDC is coming off a 96-85 win at home against Fairmont State on Monday. Jordan Roland paced the Falcons with 24 points- Mike Sampson netted a season high 21 points- and grabbed nine rebounds. Sampson also tied a single game program record in the contest, going nine of nine from the floor. Tyland Crawford added 17 points- and- seven rebounds- while Jordan Burton tallied 10. The Falcons shot 57 percent from the field- 38 percent (8-21) from the 3-point line- and- 72 percent (18-25) at the free throw line.

The Falcons are tied for eighth in the MEC putting up 79.2 points per game- while they are fifth in the conference giving up 81.6 points per night. They are second in the MEC shooting at a 38 percent clip from the 3-point line. Another area that has been a strength is on the glass, where they are now +4.2 (37.6-33.4.)

Roland leads the season box score scoring 17.3 points per game, while he is also leading the team dishing out just a tad more than three assists per contest which is also in the top ten in the MEC. The junior from Flint,Mich. is also third in the MEC in minutes played at 35.9 per night. Burton continues to lead the MEC in 3-point shooting, where he is shooting 52 percent on the year. He is second on the team in scorinppg at 13.8 per contest. He also continues to be top ten in free throw shooting as well, where he is shooting 86 percent from the line. Crawford is scoring 13 points per game- and- hauling in 5.9 rebounds per contest. Sampson is putting up 11.2 points per game- and- is third in the MEC hauling in 10.1 rebounds per contest.

The Bobcats are coming off a 87-86 win over Alderson Broaddus last time out. All four of the Bobcats wins have come at home this season. Canaan Bartley poured in a game high 38 points- Agiye Edwards tallied 14- and- Jaylon Johnson contributed 13. Frostburg shot 52 percent from the field- 40 percent (8-20) from the 3-point line- and- 64 percent (9-13) from the free throw line in the victory.

As a team the Bobcats are tied for eighth with NDC scoring 79.2 points per game- while defensively they are giving up an MEC 12th best 96.2 points per contest. On the glass, the Bobcats are being out rebounded by 13.9 (33-46.9) boards per game which is also 12th in the MEC.

Edwards leads the season box score putting up 19.3 points per game, which is top 10 in the MEC. Bartley is netting 17.3 per night- and- leads the team in rebounding at 5.6 per contest. Both Bartley and Edwards are shooting at a 41 percent clip from the 3-point line on the season. Jihar Williams is getting 9.1 points per game- while Johnson is also getting 9.1 per night- and- leads the team in assists at just under three per contest.

In the first meeting between thae two teams, Frostburg came away with a 71-70 win on 1/23. Edwards scored 19, Sean Patterson added 16, and Williams tallied 13 in the Frostburg win. While NDC was paced in that contest by Javontae Jones with 15- Sampson tallied 14 points- and- 13 rebounds in that defeat.
