NDC Travels To Athens For MEC Matchup With Concord.

"Tough road test on Saturday at Concord, "Head Coach Mark Richmond explained. "They are coming off two really good wins this week. Concord is historically a tough place to play.

Jamarr Talbert talked about the plan:

"We just need to follow the game plan and we will be just fine, "Talbert mentioned.

NDC (3-3 2-1 MEC) is coming off a 77-73 win over Glenville State that kept the Falcons perfect (3-0) at home on the season. Jaedon Willis paced NDC with 22 points, Talbert netted a career high 14 (all in the second half,) and DeAirius Barker tallied 11. NDC shot 45.9 percent from the field (53.85 percent in the second half,) 38.5 percent from the 3-point line (10-26,) which included 55.5 percent (5-9) from the 3-point line, and shot 73.3 percent (11-15) from the free throw line.

NDC is scoring an MEC fifth best 83 points per game on the offensive end, while defensively they are 11th in the conference giving up 83.2 points per game. They shoot 46.2 percent from the field which is good for third in the conference, while they are shooting an MEC second best 39.8 percent from the 3-point line. They are shooting at an MEC seventh best 72.5 percent clip at the free throw line. On the glass NDC is sixth in the conference out rebound the opposition by .7 (38.3-37.7) rebounds per night.

Willis continues to pace the team and the MEC pouring in 24.2 points per game. Barker joins him in double figures putting up 10.8 points per contest. Barker also leads the team in assists at just under three per night. Tyland Crawford scores nine points per game, while he and Andre Harris lead the team on the glass grabbing 4.8 rebounds per contest.

Richmond has this to say about his squad:

"We will need a 40 minute consistent effort to put ourselves in position to win this one. "


Concord (4-3 1-2 MEC) is coming off an 81-66 win over Alderson Broaddus on Wednesday. JJ Harper and Lual Rahama each tallied 17 in the win. The Mountain Lions shot 53.2 percent from the field, 58.3 percent (7-12) from the 3-point line, and 61.5 percent (8-13) at the free throw line. They are seventh in the MEC scoring 79.4 points per game, while defensively they are fourth in the conference giving up 76.0 points per contest. CU is seventh in field goal percentage shooting 44.2 percent from the field while they are eighth in the conference shooting 30.4 percent from the 3-point line. They are fifth shooting 73.2 percent from the free throw line while they are third in the MEC on the glass out rebounding the opposition by 4.7 (43.7-39.0) rebounds per night.

Ruhama is eighth in the MEC and leads the Mountain Lions in scoring at 17.1 points per game while he is second in the MEC and leads CU grabbing 8.9 boards per contest. He is also 10th in the MEC in field goal percentage shooting at a 50.5 percent clip. Harper is putting up 12.9 points per game and is one of two Mountain Lions (he is fourth with 1.4 blocks per game,) while Jevon Laidler is sixth in the MEC blocking 1.3 shots per game.

Richmond gave his final thoughts:

"Concord always shoots the ball well at home and don't make many mistakes. They are solid and well coached so we will need to be at our best on Saturday."
