NDC Travels To Shepherd Thursday.

The Notre Dame College Falcons are on the road Thursday as they battle the Rams of Shepherd. Tip time is set for 7:30 PM. You can catch all the action on NotreDameFalcons.com

NDC (10-4 6-2 MEC) is coming off a pair of wins last week at home. They were a 109-81 winner over Glenville State on Thursday night- then rallied in the second half to defeat West Virginia Wesleyan 73-61. Will Vorhees and Drew Scarberry led NDC with 23 points each in the win over Glenville. On Saturday- the Falcons had four players tally in double figures in the victory. Vorhees led the way with 22 points and 11 rebounds- Scarberry knocked four 3-pointer's on his way to 15 points- Larenz Thurman scored 11 points- grabbed five rebounds- and- dished out four assists- while Isaiah Sanders also scored 11. NDC shot 49 percent from the field- 38 percent from the 3-point line- and- 81 percent from the free throw line in the victory. The Falcons dominated the rebounding battle 43-18.

On the season Vorhees is leading the way in the box scores at 23.5 points and 11.1 rebounds per night- Thurman averages 17 per game to go along with a team leading 4.9 assists a contest- Sanders puts up 12.8 per game- while Halil Parks rounds out the double digit scorers at 11.3 per night. The Falcons average 84.6 points per game on the offensive end- while they give up 77.1 per game on defense. NDC is shooting 18.6 free throws per night- while shooting at a 79 percent clip from the line. On the boards NDC has a 39.4- 36.6 edge on the season.

Shepherd (9-5 5-3 MEC) is coming off a hard-fought 80-79 win at Virginia Wise last time out. The Rams are 6-2 at home on the season. Tommy Lang hit nine 3-pointers on his way to 36 points in that contest- while Derek McKnight also scored in double figures with 17. The Rams shot 43 percent in the contest- 39 percent from the 3-point line- and- shot at a 79 percent clip (18-23) from the free throw line. Each team had 40 rebounds in that game. The Rams had 13 assists and 10 turnovers.

Lang leads Shepherd in scoring at 19.1 points per game- McKnight averages 18.1 per night- to go with a team leading 4.4 assists per contest. Winston Burgess is questionable to play in tomorrow's contest with an injury but is averaging 16.8 points and a team leading 7.4 rebounds per night. Jon Preston is also averaging in double figures at 10.1 per game. As a team the Rams average 81.3 points per night on the offensive end- while defensively they give up 78.2 points per contest.

Coach Tim Koenig gave his thoughts on the matchup with Shepherd:

" They are playing great. Been playing really well as of late. The two guards Lang and McKnight are really good. When they play well- Shepherd usually wins."

Bruce Hodges agreed:

" They are playing the best basketball they have played all season right now. We have to come out and execute the game plan. We can not be happy from the last two wins. We need to come out playing harder than any game this year. If we do that we will come out 1-0 on the day."
