NDC Women's Basketball Schedule Released Wednesday.

Notre Dame College Women's basketball, and the Mountain East Conference got one step closer to returning to play Wednesday afternoon as the Mountain East Conference Board of Directors unanimously approved plans to conduct athletic competition in Winter Sports beginning no sooner than January 7,2021.

The plans are contingent upon the ability to conduct sports while adhering to state and local guidelines and COVID-19 surveillance testing at each member institution utilizing the NCAA's guidelines.

" On behalf of our board, our athletic administrators and our student-athletes we are pleased to be taking the next step toward returning to competition in 2021, Mountain East Commissioner Reid Amos said."

He continued:

" However we fully acknowledge that there are still many challenges head of us as we make every effort to safely navigate returning to and sustaining intercollegiate competition. I am grateful for the resolve of everyone in our league to continue to plot a viable path forward."

The MEC will begin the 16 game conference-only schedule with the top 10 teams advancing to the MEC Tournament at WesBanco Arena in Wheeling, West Va, March 3-7.

Last season's MEC Coach Of The Year Lauren Macer talked about the coming season:

" We are going to approach each game one at a time, the opponents in our league are tough, we will need to enter each game focused and prepared. We are hoping we can all stay healthy during this time and control what we are able to control throughout the season, Macer said.

NDC is coming off a historic season in which they qualified for the NCAA Tournament for the first time in school history.
