NDCMBB To Open Season In PA, Take Trip To Florida As Well As MEC Action.

The Notre Dame College Falcons will be back on the hardwood after a conference only season last season that saw them go 8-8 before falling to Glenville State in the MEC Quarterfinals. The Falcons will play four non-conference games as well as the traditional MEC schedule in the 2021-22 campaign.

The Falcons will return three starters in John Godinez, Mike Sampson, and Tyland Crawford from a season ago. Crawford is the top returning scorer at 13.4 points per contest. Sampson averaged a double-double putting up 11.2 points and 10.2 rebounds per night in the shortened season that concluded in March. Godinez scored 7.9 points per game in 21 minutes per game. Jevontae Jones started a pair of games in the shortened season, while Elijah Barnett got nine starts to highlight the returners. 10 other Falcons who recorded a stat last season return on top of some newcomers.

NDC will open the campaign at Slippery Rock on 11/12, before they face Seton Hill at Slippery Rock the following day. NDC will open conference play at Wheeling on 11/20 when they battle the Cardinals. The home opener for the Falcons will be on 11/23 when they take on West Liberty at Murphy Gym where they look to build on a 6-2 home record, and four straight wins to close the home slate. On 12/1 the Falcons will travel to Glenville State before a pair of conference home games against Concord and Davis and Elkins 12/4 and 12.8 respectively. West Virginia Wesleyan is the next opponent in Buckhanon on 12.11 before a trip to Central Florida on 12/19 and 12/20. NDC will play Florida Tech of the Sunshine State Conference on the 19th in Melbourne before taking on Lynn, also of the SSC on 12.20 at the Clemente Center in Melbourne.

When the calendar flips to January NDC will host Frostburg on 1/5 before a trip to Fairmont State on 1.8. NDC will then travel to Institute, West Va. to play West Virginia State on 1.12. On 1/15 and 1.19 the Falcons will return home to battle Charleston and Wheeling. Then on 1/22 and 1.26 the road trip will take NDC to Phillipi and Athens, West Va. to take on Alderson Broaddus and Concord. The next two home games will be against Glenville State and West Virginia Wesleyan on 1.29 and 2.2. The regular season will conclude with four of the final seven games on the road capped off by the regular season finale against AB on 2.26. The MEC tournament will return to WesBanco Arena in Wheeling, West Va. from March 2-6.

Mark Richmond will be entering his third season as the Head Coach of the Falcons.
