Notre Dame Hits The Road To Elkins As They Look To Get Back On Track

The Notre Dame College Falcons look to get back on track tomorrow night (12/6) when they take on the Davis & Elkins College Senators at the McDonnell Center. Tip time is set for 7:30 PM. You can catch all the action on MountainEast.TV

"Big road game tomorrow. It's going to be important for us to finish all plays especially on defense with stops and rebounds," NDC junior guard Kaleb Torrence said.

"It's an opportunity to get back on track," NDC junior guard Jamarr Talbert added.

"D&E is really talented and playing really well. We will have to do a good job on (Sam) Rolle because he initiates everything they do. We'll have to do a great job on the glass and continue to value and share the ball on the offensive end,"NDC head coach Mark Richmond explained.

NDC (2-4 1-3 MEC) is coming off a 93-83 overtime loss at Concord on Saturday. Devon Haid led the Falcons with 20 points, 10 rebounds, and a career high four blocks. Andre Harris scored 13 and pulled down eight rebounds, while Javontae Jones added 11 points and seven rebounds off the Falcons bench in 29 minutes of action including the game tying 3-pointer with .2 seconds on the clock in regulation. NDC is fourth in the Mountain East Conference scoring 81.5 points per game on the offensive end while on the defensive end they give up an MEC ninth best 84.5 points per game. The Falcons shoot 42.3 percent from the field which is eighth best in the MEC. On defense the Falcons allow the opposition to shoot 41 percent which is fourth in the MEC. NDC shoots 29 percent from the 3-point line which is 10th in the MEC and the opposition shoots 31.7 percent from the 3-point line which is fifth in the conference. NDC is shooting an MEC second best 77.3 percent from the free throw line. On the glass the Falcons are +.5 (45-44.5) which is sixth in the MEC. The Falcons are one of the most prolific shot blocking teams not only in the MEC but the country. NDC leads the MEC and is tied for second in all of Division II swatting 6.5 shots per game. Haid and RJ Ogom lead the team in scoring and are tied for eighth in the MEC contributing 14 points per game. Haid is also second in the MEC shooting at a 95 percent clip from the free throw line. Ogom is directly behind Haid in third in free throw percentage where he shoots 93.5 percent from the foul line. Haid and Ogom are fourth and eighth in the MEC respectively in blocked shots per game (1.7 and 1.3) blocks per contest. Haid is also tied for ninth in the conference in minutes played at 30.7 minutes played per contest. Harris and Gbolahan Adio also average in double figures at 12.3 per night. Adio leads the team in assists per night (2.7) and minutes played (31.3 minutes per night) which is tied for sixth in minutes played with Harris. Harris leads the MEC in rebounds per game (9.5) as well as an MEC sixth best 1.5 blocked shots per night. The Brush product is sixth in the MEC shooting 44.1 percent from the field and leads the Falcons nabbing 1.3 steals per contest.

The Senators (5-3 3-1 MEC) are coming off a 91-85 loss at home to West Liberty on Saturday. Sam Rolle led the way with 18 points and five assists while Clarens Pierre scored 15 points and pulled down 10 rebounds. Tristan Starks rounded out the double digit scorers with 13 in the defeat. As a team D&E scores an MEC seventh best 80 points per game while defensively they are fourth allowing 73.6 points per contest. The Senators shoot 45 percent from the field which is third in the MEC and they are the top field goal percentage defense in the conference holding the opposition to 38.7 percent. The Senators shoot 35.8 percent from the 3-point line while they hold the opposition to 30.2 percent from the 3-point line which are both third in the MEC. The Senators shoot an MEC seventh best 73.2 percent from the free throw line while they are the second best rebounding team in the conference +6 (42-36) boards per night. Rolle leads D&E and is fifth in the MEC scoring 15.1 points per game while his 5.6 assists per game are second best in the MEC. Rolle is ninth in field goal percentage (41.7 percent) and fourth in assist to turnover ratio in the conference. Starks scores 13.1 poinrs per game as he is the Senators most prolific 3-point shooter. Starks shoots 46.7 percent from the 3-point line which is second in the MEC and he makes 2.6 triples per night which is also second in the conference. Charleston Ponds pulls down a team leading 6.8 rebounds per game which is eighth in the MEC. Pierre grabs 6.6 rebounds per game which is 10th in the MEC. He is third in the MEC swatting two shots per game as well.
