On The Road Again. NDC Set To Battle D& E In MEC Road Tilt.

The Notre Dame College Falcons will play a second consecutive road game when they travel to Elkins, West Virginia to take on the Senators in an MEC tilt. Tip time is slated for 7:30 PM and you can catch all the action on the MEC Digital network on MountainEast.TV

"Winning on the road anywhere is tough so we just have to find a way, "sophomore Guard Gbolahan Adio said. " We have to be the tougher team and play the right way and we should be fine."

Guard Jamarr Talbert agreed:

"We have to dig deeper if we want to win on the road. Our road performances up to this point are not a great indicator of how good the team is. We plan to show that on Wednesday."

As did Head Coach Mark Richmond:

"Another great opportunity on the road on Wednesday at D &E.."

NDC (3-4 2-2 MEC) is coming off an 85-80 road loss at Concord on Saturday. DeAirius Barker paced the Falcons with 17 points, the duo of Jaedon Willis and Daylin Lee each notched 14, Andre Harris tallied 12, Adio also scored in double figures with 11.

On the season the Falcons are scoring an MEC fifth best 82.6 points per game while defensively they are ninth in the conference giving up 83.4 points per contest. NDC is shooting at a 45.3 percent from the 3-point line which is fifth in the MEC. The Falcons are shooting 40 percent from the 3-point line which is second in the conference. On the boards NDC is eighth in the MEC as they are being out-rebounded by 1.4 (37.6-39.0) boards per contest.

Willis continues to pace the Falcons and be among the leaders in several categories. The Baltimore native is the top scorer in the MEC scoring 22.7 points per game. Not only is that the top scoring average in the MEC but Willis is seventh in the country. Willis also shoots 45 percent from the field, 40 percent from the 3-point line and 82.5 percent from the free throw line. His 57 free throws made are 14th in all of Division II. Willis is fourth in the conference in minutes per game (32.4,) and is dishing out 2.7 assists per contest which is tied for the team lead with Barker. Barker, the Cincinnati Princeton product is also averaging double figures, putting up 11.7 points per night. Harris leads the team in rebounds (4.7 per game.)

Davis& Elkins (6-2 2-2 MEC) is coming off a 101-64 loss to West Liberty last time out. Sam Rolle led the Senators with 21 points, Vadim Clanet added 13, while Clarens Pierre notched 10 in the defeat. As a team D& E is scoring 81.5 points per game while they give up 79.4 points per contest, both sixth in the MEC. The Senators are shooting 45.9 percent from the field, which is fourth in the conference. They shoot 35.1 percent from the 3-point line which is fifth in the MEC. On the glass the Senators are out-rebounding the opposition by 0.2 boards per night (36.5-36.3) boards per contest.

Rolle is fourth in the MEC scoring 19 points per game, the native of Riviera Beach, Florida is topping the conference in both minutes per game (33.4,) and assists per game (5.75.) Clanet averages 12.8 points per game and is seventh in the MEC grabbing 7.5 rebounds per night. Even Busby puts up 11.9 points per game. Pierre is also tallying double digits scoring 10.5 points per game, and is leading the Senators in rebounding hauling in 7.6 boards per night.

Richmond talked about the Senators:

"D& E is playing really well and has one of the most dynamic guards in the league."

Willis gave the final thought prior to this one:

"We have to compete for 40 minutes on both ends. Road games are always tough but we just have to do whatever it takes."
