Roland Selected All-MEC Second Team

The Mountain East Conference announced the all conference teams on Wednesday, and Jordan Roland was selected on the Second Team.

In his first season in a Falcons uniform, the junior from Flint, Michigan played, and started all 16 games for NDC. He led the team in minutes played (an MEC third best 36.0 minutes per night-) field goals made (107-) total points scored (280-) points per game (an MEC 14th best 17.6-) assists (51- an MEC 10th best 3.2 per contest-) and steals (20-) which was an MEC 14th best as well.

The junior scored double figures in 14 of 16 contests this season, and scored at least 20 points six times. Roland scored a season high 28 points against Davis& Elkins on February 8th.

Here were the thoughts of his Coach about what Roland has been through:

" I am really proud, and happy for JR. He's handled the last 18 months unbelievably well. He redshirted for us a year ago and continued his work, and improvement during an unprecedented spring and summer. He loves the game, and is a competitor. He's done a great job of stepping up, and being a leader for our team, "Richmond explained.

Here is what Roland had to say about winning the honor:

" I am very glad I made second team. I wouldn't have been able to do it without my coaches, and my teammates. My overall goal though is to win the conference with my teammates. I want my whole team to receive rings, "Roland explained.
