Senior Day Closes Out Home Slate As Falcons host Virginia Wise Saturday.

The Notre Dame College Falcons close out the home slate Saturday as they face the Virginia College at Wise on Senior day. Prior to the game NDC will honor seniors Dan Atcheson- Will Vorhees- and- Angelo Cugini. Tip time is slated for 4 PM and you can catch all the action on NotreDameFalcons.com

NDC Guard Bruce Hodges talked about sending out the seniors in style:

" We are hoping to send our seniors out with a bang. It's going to be a great day- and hopefully we can go 1-0. We need to play good team defense- and- rebound as a team." Hodges said.

Drew Scarberry agreed and gave this thoughts:

" We have to be on top of our game tomorrow in all facets. We have to execute on offense- as well as defense. We have to be mentally ready. Our seniors have meant the world to us throughout their years here. It is time to reward them." Scarberry stated.

Coach Tim Koenig talked about what's ahead:

"Wise is a really good team- especially on the offensive end. Seals is one of the toughest guys to guard in our league. For us offensively- we have to have cutters to the rim. The goal tomorrow like every game this year is to go 1-0." Koenig mentioned.

NDC (19-6 15-4 MEC) has won six straight overall- and- 10 in a row at home coming into Saturday's contest. Last time out the Falcons beat Concord 88-79 on Thursday night. Will Vorhees had 42 points- 11 rebounds- and- five assists in the victory. Isaiah Sanders added 20- and- Bruce Hodges scored 10. NDC shot 54 percent from the field- 46 percent from the 3-point line (10-22-) and- 80 percent from the free throw line (12-15.) The Falcons were a 97-86 winner over Wise on 11/19. NDC is putting up a league sixth best 86.9 points per game- while defensively they allow a league third best 78.5 points per contest. The Falcons are +5.2 on the glass (39.9-34.7.)

Vorhees is scoring a league second best 28.1 points per game- while he leads the conference in rebounding at 11.3 per night. Vorhees now has the most points of any Division II player in 25 years (2543.) Thurman is scoring 18.2 points per contest- and-a league second best five assists per night. Isaiah Sanders also averages in double figures netting 12.1 points per game.

Virginia Wise (8-17 5-14 MEC) is coming off a 90-73 win over Urbana Thursday night. Eric Okenchi- and- Briggs Parris led the Cavaliers with 18 points each in the win. Cameron Whiteside scored 16- Kaleb Carter tallied 11- and- Jordan Pointer netted 10. The Cavaliers shot 56 percent from the field- 35 percent from the 3-point line (6-17-) and- 66 percent from the free throw line (20-33.) They average a league eighth best 82.8 points per game- while they allow a league seventh best 84.7 per night.

Seals leads Wise in scoring at 18.7 per night- and- is one of five Cavaliers to average in double figures. He also grabs 5.9 rebounds per night. Parris scores 16.6 points per game- Whiteside scores 13.7 per night- Carter scores 10.1 per game- and- Okenchi scores 10 a game to go along with seven rebounds per night.
