Surging NDC Welcomes D&E To South Euclid In MEC Action

The surging Notre Dame College Falcons (10-8 5-7 MEC) fresh off a sweep pf a three game road swing to Wheeling, Salem, and West Virginia Wesleyan welcome the Davis & Elkins College Senators (11-8 6-5 MEC) to South Euclid inside Murphy Gymnasium tomorrow ( February 3rd.) "Excited to be back home Saturday to play Davis & Elkins. They can be explosive offensively and are one of the best defensive teams in our league. We didn't play particularly well against them the first time. We will have to make some adjustments. Sam Rolle has great speed and is really good in transition. They have the size on the inside so we will have to stop their transition and do a great job on the glass," NDC head coach Mark Richmond explained.

"Revenge tour starts tomorrow,"NDC junior guard Josh Dames mentioned.

"Yes sir revenge tour," NDC senior guard Trent Williams added.

In the first meeting with the Senators back in December the Falcons fell 102-79 on the road. Redshirt sophomore Devin Haid led NDC that night with 17 points, while redshirt juniors Andre Harris and RJ Ogom had 13, and 11 points respectively.

Last time out NDC escaped with a 84-83 overtime win at West Virginia Wesleyan. Haid led NDC with 20 points, Harris contributed 15 to go along with seven rebounds, while Williams tallied 12. NDC scores an MEC fifth best 82.7 points per game, shoots an MEC fifth best 45.4 percent from the floor, an MEC seventh best 34.3 percent from the 3-point line, and an MEC ninth best 70.6 percent at the free throw line. The Falcons are also sixth in turnover margin, fifth in assist to turnover ratio, and dish out 15.33 assists per game which is third in the MEC. The Falcons get 14.82 fast break points a game which is 31st in the country. Defensively the Falcons give up an MEC eighth best 81.9 points per game, are sixth in field goal percentage against (44.4 percent,) ninth at guarding the 3-point line (36.1 percent,) and are -0.1 (38.2-38.3) on the glass which is seventh in the MEC. The Falcons block 4.72 shots per game which is third in the MEC and top 20 in the country. Haid leads the team in scoring at 13.8 points per night. The Wooster native leads the team in assists per game (2.8,) steals per game (1.4) which is eighth in the MEC, and blocks (1.0) per game which is also eighth in the MEC. The redshirt sophomore is fourth in the MEC in free throw percentage (86.4 percent) as well. Harris puts up 12.5 points per game, grabs an MEC seventh best 6.4 rebounds per game, and is getting 1.2 steals per contest. Junior Gbolahan Adio puts up 10.3 points per game and dishes out 2.3 assists per contest. Ogom rounds out the double digit scorers at 10.2 points per game. The Chicago native shoots 91.1 percent from the free throw line which leads the MEC and is 13th in the country.

The Senators are coming off a 79-56 win over Salem last time out. Sam Rolle led the way with 17 points, Nicolas Silva added 16, while the trio of Clarens Pierre, Charleston Ponds, and Dontrell Jenkins notched nine. In the win over NDC in early December Vadim Clanet had 22, Rolle added 18, and Ponds netted 13. Tristan Starks and Silva contributed 10 as well. D& E scores an MEC eighth best 80.5 points per game, shoots an MEC seventh best 44.8 percent from the field, MEC eight best 34.7 percent from the 3-point line, and an MEC eighth best 71.9 percent at the free throw line. They are 10th in turnover margin, sixth in assist to turnover ratio, and are dishing out an MEC sixth best 14.16 assists per night. On the defensive end they give up 73.5 points per game which is third in the MEC, lead the conference in field goal percentage against (39.2) and 3-point percentage against (30.4 percent.) They are third in the MEC on the glass getting 4.6 more rebounds than the opposition (40.8-36.2.) They also block an MEC seventh best 3.32 shots per game. Rolle is the catalyst for the Senators and one of the most dynamic players in the MEC. He scores 17.5 points per game (third in MEC,) dishes out 5.4 assists per game (tied first MEC and tied 16th in the country.) He is also fourth in assist to turnover ratio, is tied for eighth in the MEC stealing the ball 1.4 ties per night, and is playing an MEC eighth most 30.6 minutes per game. Rolle is joined in double figures by Starks (11.3 points per game,) and Clanet (10.9 poins per night.) Pierre leads the team grabbing 6.7 rebounds per night and is second in the MEC blocking 2.1 shots per game.
