Vorhees Named Ron Lenz National Player Of The Year and First Team All-American Tuesday!

Will Vorhees was named the Ron Lenz National Player Of The Year on Tuesday afternoon by the Conference Commissioner's Association. Vorhees was also named a First Team All-American and will compete in the Division 2 All Star Game presented by Reese's.

Vorhees averaged 28.8 points and 11.3 rebounds per game on the season. He also averaged 3.4 assists per game. The redshirt senior from Lima became the first player in MEC history to score 2,000 points and grab 1,000 rebounds. He scored the most points of anyone in the Division 2 basketball ranks in the past 27 years. Vorhees will be inducted into the NDC hall of fame and have his jersey retired at a later date after scoring a NDC record 2,761 points in his career. Vorhees will compete in the D2 All-Star Game for the East squad that will consist of 20 players total from eight regions. The game will take place on Friday March 29th in Evansville, Indiana at 8 PM. Vorhees also was named MEC Player Of The Year- Atlantic Region Player Of The Year- and MEC Most Outstanding Player earlier this month.
