Vorhees Names Bevo Francis Award Finalist.

Will Vorhees is one step closer to gaining yet another award. The finalists for the Bevo Francis Award were named on Sunday evening and Vorhees was one of nine players named as finalists.
Last week Vorhees garnered his second of a pair of Division 2 First Team All-American honors. This one being from the Basketball Times. That being after he was named a First Team All-American by the Conference Commissioner's Association in March. The Bevo Francis Award began with 100 players who were nominated on January 15th and that number has been reduced to nine. The award takes into account players from NCAA II- NCAA III- NAIA- USCAA- and- NCCAA.
Bevo Francis was a member of the Rio Grande Men's basketball team from 1952-1954. He averaged 50.1 points per game in his first year. In 1953 Francis scored 116 points in a game- he also had a 113 point performance in 1954. The winner will be announced on Monday.
