Vorhees Wins MEC Male Athlete Of The Year!

Will Vorhees was named the 2018-19 Male Athlete Of The Year, which was announced by the Mountain East Conference on Wednesday. The Male Athlete Of The Year is selected by a vote of instititutional administrators and the conference office.

This past year, Vorhees became the first player in Notre Dame College Men's basketball history to be named the DII Ron Lenz National Player Of The Year. He was also the MEC Player Of The Year- and- the Most Outstanding Player of the MEC Tournament in leading the Falcons to a MEC title and the first region berth in school history. He was also one of the finalists for the Bevo francis Award, which was given to the player who has had the finest overall season within Small College Basketball.

The former NDC superstar finished the season averaging 28.8 points- 11.3 rebounds- 3.4 assists- and- 1.3 blocks per game. He was second in MEC histor

y with 23 double-doubles in a season. He ranked in the top five in NCAA Division II in total points (first-) total field goals made (first-) points per game (second-) and total rebounds (fourth.) The Falcons also won 20 regular season games for the first time in school history.
