Willis Named All-MEC First Team.

Notre Dame College Guard Jaedon Willis was named to the All-MEC First Team as selected by a vote of the league's coaches. Willis gave these thoughts about the honor:
"I am definitely happy. It was a goal of mine coming into the season to get first team, "Willis mentioned. "Obviously I did not win this award by myself. It is a testament to the success of our team as well."
Coach Mark Richmond gave his thoughts:
"I am definitely proud of Jaedon. He is a guy who has put in a lot of time and we knew he would have an impact immediately, "Richmond stated. "He has improved at both ends of the floor."
Willis averaging 20.8 points per night in the regular season which was good for third in the MEC and 21st in the country. The junior from Baltimore is 11th in the country in total points (581,) 3rd in the Mountain East shooting 38.9 percent from the 3-point line as well as second in the MEC making three 3-pointer's per contest. He ranks sixth in the MEC shooting 83.1 percent from the free throw line. Willis leads the team in assists dishing out three per game as well. His 148 free throws made on the season are 24th in the country as well. Willis is the first Falcon to be selected to the first team since Will Vorhees and Larenz Thurman had the same honor in the 2018-19 season. DeAnthony Owens and Jordan Roland were second team selections the last two seasons.
Willis joined on the first team by Glen Abram and Anthony Pittman (West Virginia State,) Bryce Butler and Pat Robinson (West Liberty,) Isaiah Sanders (Fairmont State,) John Williams (Glenville State,) and Keith Williams (Charleston.) The second team consisted of Zyon Dobbs and Cole Von Handorf (Fairmont State,) Jarrett Haines and Jordan Reid (Wheeling,) Lamont McManus (Charleston,) Jeremiah Moore (West Virginia State,) Sam Rolle (Davis & Elkins,) KJ Walker (Alderson Broads,) and Matt Weir (Concord.) The Honorable Mention honorees were Eddie Colbert (Charleston,) Agiye Edwards (Frostburg State,) Jayden Hibbitt (West Virginia Wesleyan,) Marlon Moore (West Liberty,) and Adrian Scarborough (Glenville State.) Jalen Knott (Alderson Broaddus) was selected MEC Freshman of The Year, while Ben Howlett (West Liberty) was the Coach Of The Year. Bryce Butler (West Liberty) won Player of The Year honors. NDC is the #5 seed in the MEC Tournament and will be back in action Friday night when they take on the #4 seed and 23rd ranked Fairmont State in the MEC Quarterfinals at 8:30 PM Friday night at WesBanco Arena in Wheeling, West Virginia.
